I thought I remember reading somewhere that it was where the spare wheel would normally be in a standard commodore. Also where is the jack, wheel brace etc. Does the GTS come with locknuts?
mjrandom,
Thanks for sharing that photo. The angle you showed revealed more space between the spare and the back of the boot, that was not obvious in the earlier picture.
Dave!
Another couple of shots of the spare. The spare tyre is pretty much hard up against the back of the seats and the right hand side of the boot. It pays to leave the retaining bolt loose and fit the cover because then you can spin the tyre and make the cover drop down easily.
This is what the whole thing looks like without the cover. The spare is held into a frame with a 'bolt' in the centre of the spare. The spare tyre wedges plastic box thing that holds the jack and wheel brace much the same as it does in the wheel well.
You undo the 'bolt' and slide the whole lot towards the boot opening. Then lift the spare out and the jack etc is revealed.
This is the spare and the bits that go with it.
This reveals the frame that holds the whole thing in place!
Hmmmm, not so unobtrusive. However maybe not that bad.
And my clubs fit though getting a second set in will be tricky. Maybe I need a smaller bag but then where would I hide the chainsaw?
Under the carpet there is a recess where the goo and pump fit. I could have photographed the recess because it is empty! Email to the dealer on the way. Needless to say the spare is back in. For now.
By the way John or anyone with a Calais etc is the underside of the boot lined? Mine is just bare painted steel which I thought was a bit cheap and nasty. I thought the E series had some trim up there, cannot remember.

So my HSV golf bag should fit ... Now just need to learn how to play golf
I assume that means I need to re check the dealer vs HSV on the inflator kit, though HSV says yes... Dealer did say not included... Makes no sense really

Mick do you mean the boot side of the rear parcel shelf ? If so mine is only painted but is black so it is not as noticeable as I would assume the white would be.
Nice spare rim...wonder if I could get 4 of them![]()
Pretty sure the guy at Zupps told Simon today that both are included. I have emails confirming both with the dealer so I will just wait and see.
John yes the top of the boot under the parcel shelf. Must be imagining things, I was sure there was a bit of carpet wedged up there. No big deal obviously.
Off topic... But I wonder if a certain moderator is in the market for a "W"?.. A picture tells a ........ Etc
