Seriously tail happy drive, I was sweating just watching the lap knowing how close the armco is.
Must have scared the $hit out of a couple of those bikes who thought they were on a hot lap!![]()
I was reading an article in a magazine about the Yellowbird, which some of us will know and love from Gran Turismo, and it referenced this video called "Faszination". Someone doing a crazy lap of the ring in a Yellowbird in the 80s. It had to be on the tube somewhere. Found it. It's transferred from video, so it's a bit crap in places, but just watching his hands on the wheel is almost hypnotic.
Enjoy

Not bad at all.... How long is the gear shift.... Like stirring porridge in a bucket

The driver obviously knows the car and the track really well. Truly a great effort for 80's technology and took some serious balls to punt it at that speed. And it would be demoralising to be thinking your hammering out a good lap and to be overtaken that quickly. Think I was reading that car had like 350kw and like 1100kg's. Some serious power for its day and even today!!
Bloody hell, no helmet and a t-shirt!
Back in the days when OH&S was non existent...
The car/driver would have to been the precursor to today's drift - every corner the tail was happy...
Don't dream it, DO IT....
There bloody well engineered cars Porches they make use of every HP better then most cars I reckon. Even the new ones that come out hardly increase in weight each year which is a sign of great engineering. That Yellow bird did over 200mph and mid 11 second 1/4s
He was deliberately unsettling the rear end for some corners
Scandinavian flick on tarmac
