Let's face it, whose going to pay $90K+ for an out-of-warranty W427 when you can buy a brand new GTS with 3 year warranty for the same money? The dealers will be discounting them a lot lower than even $82,990 to shift them.
This comment isn't to bag W427s it's more about introducing some market reality as to how much they are really worth at the moment. Personally, if I was a dealer taking on a W427 as a trade-in, I'd struggle to offer much more than $50K because selling it for more than $70K will be tough, I'd low ball the trade-in simply becasue I wouldn't actually want the thing clogging up my forecourt.
W427s are fabulous cars but not for $83K+ at the moment. One day W427s will be a collector's items and go up in price but it will be off a much lower base than where they are now.
