Mine is probably a bit much for some people but it only really becomes an issue when your on full throttle and then its like old school muscle car sound or so my mate reckons. Only times there is hint of drone is when your using a way to high gear like 4th or 5th at 20km/hr and its only a moment or so and I think the main thing for the DF exhaust is the long centre mufflers they seem to do a good job at controlling the drone. Mines a M6 so i guess these have less problems with drone compared to an auto.

Definitely, the A6 in its native form is a drone creator.

From my reading, the 3" KPM and 3" Di Filippo systems drone more than their 2.5" siblings.

I haven't experienced the 3" Di Filippo systems before but I have the 3" KPM and I think I would tire of them with daily driving.

I have been told by my tuner that no matter what exhaust combo you go in these, it will drone. Other than at idle, I was surprised at how nice the 6 litre sounds when you get up it, especially since I am comparing it to my Heads and Cam LS1 with custom twin 3 inch. What I will not miss, is the attention that is recieved from a car that can be heard from another post code.
Drone is very subjective and varies from person to person but apart from slightly when it's cold and very slightly going up hills I don't believe my drones and it's cammed which makes it more susceptible to drone!

which I put up a while ago to demonstrate how minimal my drone was even at its worst.

I'm hoping for 250rwkw. What are others guessing?

What I'm really hoping for is the A6 to behave properly while I'm driving it Time will tell.

It's one of HSV Listy's (Tony) black box in car cams. I have it permanently mounted just in front of my mirror and it automatically records every time I start the car. I bought it to protect myself against people incorrectly blaming my disabilities should I have an accident in which they were actually at fault. Different functionality to a Go Pro as it has built in GPS, hence the speed display, and when you play back using their program it also displays your location on Google Maps. Films in HD same as Go Pros though from what I've seen its night time resolution probably isn't quite as good, but it is cheaper (around $250 last time I checked)

I know different dyno, different tuner... but the figure is still pretty cool

I'll drive the car for a week before giving a full overview of the differences.

Think I'd rather just wait till I can get a set of harrops or something similar.

Try and get to drive both set ups, then try and justify the 3 or 4 times the price difference.............

From the engine bay..... one of the spark plugs looks pretty damn close to the extractors. Guess that is ok... ?

    Re: Order of modifications

So far it has been a pleasure to deal with APS. Frank and Luis have been very helpful with their time and advice, thanks guys. I was surprised at the amount of cars at APS, it really is like a parking lot over there

I reckon I have done about 200kms today and so far I'm loving it. It is too early to give a full run down as some of the issues I was having were intermittent in nature so I must wait it out. The issues were; holding gears too long, hesitation when putting the power down after breaking, flaring between 2nd and 3rd (1000rpm) and intermittent rough idle.

So far the A6 is shifting very very well now, very crisp changes. It now feels like a high end box, pretty impressive really. Putting it in manual mode was a bit of a surprise as the shifts are almost instantaneous now, no real pause / delay to speak about.

The sound of the car is very very different to what it was. At idle there is now a lope which is kind of cool. My wife loves how it sounds at idle. hehe, should be easy enough to get the OK for a CAM now. At cruising speed it is a little quieter in the cabin and also deeper if that makes sense. I haven't been able to do too much WOT action but it does sound different again.... there is less noise in the cabin and there is much more sucking of air sound... I guess that is the OTR. Not sure why I would hear more of that now?

Overall very happy thus far. Thanks APS. I'll report back in a week with some more driving.

Good to see that you're pleased with the outcome.

Thanks for the pics of the tranny pan, I've been wondering about ground clearance when its fitted, doesn't look too low at all.
