    Quick audio pre out question

Re the Holden IQ system I want to run a 4 channel amp and sub. What is the best way is to get your pre outs for the amp and sub. Do you just need line out converters? And if so, will it avoid alternator whine.
If not, what do you recommend I do?

Can't help with your answers but you may have more chance of replies in the Car Audio section.

Re: Quick audio pre out question

I used an alpine amp with the LOC built in (Hi-level inputs i think they call them ??), tapped into the speaker outputs on the drivers side panel on the IQ system and ran the wires to the amp mounted under the drivers seat. Works very well with no alternator whine and pumps out tunes quite well. Let me know if you want some more info and will try to help you out, last time I asked this question on here no one answered so did it alone and worked well.

Re: Quick audio pre out question

No worries guys thanks. And PS1364 thanks man. I went to an audio shop yesterday who recommended some Fusion LOC and I was able to get them on Ebay for $17 each (shop was $50).

Question, do I need spacers for my speakers? I noticed Wonky used them in his?

I might do a thread on the system I am putting in, it is just incredible how much you can save through Amazon by ordering direct from US. As it stands I will have a pretty high quality system I think for around $1,100. That includes full Dynamat (P.S looked at Wonky's pics from an old thread) with a really flash 4 channel Alpine Digital Amp, Alpine Type R Speakers, high quality wiring and Sub (yet to be purchased but will purchase this in Aus).
Every shop I went to try's to sell you what they prefer and bag everything else. Plus you don't get much change from 2-3k!

I used an Audio Control LC6i- have a thread somewhere with pics tapping into the IQ but running 2 amps and good speakers and sound is 100%- no whine, no noise.

Allot of Au stores won't install gear purchased over seas, or they'll charge you double for install.

Do the install yourself. Its really easy.

Don't use a LOC, mine had god awful alternator whine. Use something like an Audio Control LC6i a mentioned above.

Re: Quick audio pre out question

Raff thanks so much for that link its brilliant! My mate and I will use it for a template when doing mine next weekend! Great job btw. I have already ordered LOC so might change to LC6i like you have mentioned. IMO threads like yours should be a stick in the audio section.

Clubred I am going to do the install with a mate.
