No manual VF Holden wagon.
HSV F series Tourer is your only option.
Hi Everyone,
Well the WRX will be 3 years old in Feb, and it looks like I'll be turning it over for a new vehicle. After much thinking I'm currently leaning toward a new VF SS wagon. Funny thing, though, is that I can't seem to find the details for a manual version on the Holden website. Surely such a thing exists.
Can anyone confirm that the SS wagon does in fact come in manual and I'm just an idiot for not beeing able navigate Holden's pretty (but hard too use) website?
Cheers.

No manual. Few people haven't been happy about it.
Interesting.
Anyone know why it was dropped? I'd have thought the SS would target exactly the market of people wanting a manual.
Still, it's probably not a dealbreaker. I'll go drive one after Christmas and see what I think.
EDIT: And thanks for the quick replies.

Allegedly not enough sales to justify the engineering work, but that doesn't explain the existence of a manual HSV wagon!
2007 VE SS M6 - Ignition
2013 JH Cruze SRi M6 - Redhot
1971 VW Super Beetle - Moss Green
dunno why you say bugger all sales.... I, like you, personally know 7 owners of manual SS/SSv wagons
and all are repeat customers- that is, like me they have had more than 1 VE Series I or II SS/SSv manual wagon ( I have had 3)
and its interesting that NONE of them will be buying an auto wagon. One had just updated to a manual SSv ute and another
has spat the dummy -- bought a V8 manual Toyota 4WD Landcruiser thingy and is putting all his onroad techies in Toyota
Workmates ..and sell their Holden utes (that alone is about 25 lost sales to Holden)

"Us" the mere mortals and members of LS1 and our groups of friends are all enthusiasts yeah? So it would be quite fathomable to believe that these more "astute" purchasers know what they want and get what they want. However, this market (even though everyone you know falls into it) is just a neiche segment of that market, thats all you see, its not all of what Holden see? Like being a Mortican and saying that everyone is "dead", or a copper and saying everyone is a crim.
Everyone lives in their insulated world.
I wanted a manual, but to get it across the line with the Minister for War and Finance I opted (I say that like I had a choice huh!? lol) the Auto, after all, she drives it everyday.
No Manual
No sunroof
No decent sound system (even in a HSV R8 SV Tourer).

The dealers put them in Smitty. They use the same mob as the factory. I know a few people with them. Dealer fitted, not factory
Yeah I really don't understand the logic in simplifying the range options. How much money is really saved by limiting driveline options. Especially with things like an engine or trans. If its available in another variant then why the hell not in anything. Engine I somewhat understand, it forces people up to a premium model to get the premium engine, but then how many sales are completely lost because you have to spend a lot more just to get an engine option. The flip side is imagine how many missed HSV sales there would be if you could option an LS3 in an OMEGA. Im guessing lots. But a trans is just ridiculous. You simply cannot get a V8 manual in a non sports model. Stupid. I'm sure they have lost sales due to these restrictions.
Obviously they haven't lost enough sales or they wouldn't have done it.
There must be more cost involved than the lost sales.
