7 did a shit job, 10s coverage was heaps better.
Looks like 7 have blown it and the tv rights will go to Fox/10. Cant be good for free to air coverage and 7 were doing a reasonable job.

Serves Ch 7 right. When the chips were down they really screwed V8 Supercars, with the result that much less money was available to Teams to the detriment of all.
I say, well done Ch 10 for putting decent money on the table.
It will be interesting to see if Crompton, Skaife & Mark Larkham get a look in. I've never been a big Skaife fan, but I guess he does Ok on the telecasts, I reckon Larko is absolutely brilliant.
Well done 10, to lock down a 6 year deal in the current economic climate is brilliant, & gives a degree of continuity for everyone.
Cheers, Pickles.
good riddance to 7. should never have got involved with motorsport. i remember years ago when they first got the rights i would be watching the race and there might be a few laps left and then it hits 6 oclock and they go to the news! you sit there watching for hours and they pull stuff like that...for the news! just push it back 5-10mins like 9 does with the cricket. its not like they dont have enough news on these days anyway with the same rubbish being repeated 20 times.
deserves them right.
the problem with common sense is it's not that common
Yeah, just read about this over on V8's website. Good stuff! Always thought 10 had a better coverage. The broadcast team will transfer back over to 10 I'd imagine. Silly not to.
Will be interesting to see how they handle days like Bathurst where not only the 1000 is on but also F1 and MotoGP all in the same time time slots at the same time.
Hope they increase the pic quality. Would like to see something better from 10. Foxtel doing high def......
I started off with nothing.....and still have most of it left.
Channel 7 may be laughing all the way to the bank. with holden and ford closing in 2016 there may not be much interest in the series (hope not).
I'm not a hoon, I'm just competitive
i think they will change the rules to allow 2dr cars and then we'll see mustangs and comaros going around with ford and holden badges
they have to keep ford and holden badges in it for survival
the problem with common sense is it's not that common
V8 Supercars won't have to schedule around AFL like this year where races had to be completed by 3.00pm on occasions
Hopefully we'll get HD on FOX
Like I said, I'm very happy with the Ch 10 deal.
However, there may be something "not so good" about this deal relative to "Free To Air" TV that we do not know about. V8 Supercars ain't saying anything, but it seems that there is a possibility that some stuff may not be shown FTA, only on Foxtel,....which will piss me off. I wouldn't think sponsors would be happy either, they rely on FTA to get their product known, whereas Foxtel would be to a far more limited audience.
Personally, I reckon all will be good, just have to wait & see I guess?
Cheers, Pickles.
We might actually get HD coverage for once
"Fox Sports CEO Patrick Delany says the subscription service will televise ”every minute of practice, qualifying, support categories and the Championship races” live and in HD"
http://www.speedcafe.com/2013/12/18/...a-rights-deal/
Give it a go yourself first, if it doesnt work out then pay someone.
Ch10 had better run it HD and live too. PayTV is a complete waste of money
Be interesting to see how Ch10 run with it and also to see if the Commentary Team come across or Ch10 start with a fresh team. Ingall in commentary...?
"Ingall in commentary"?..........THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!....(Start a petition?)
Cheers, Pickles.
