    winch point Monaro

Ok - I have mounted an electric inch on my car trailer(it is a tilt trailer with generous ramps)

Where would be a good place to mount a winch point on my Monaro?

I do have the police spec sump plate, and had thought of an eye there that a swivel hook could attach to it to it?

    TIA

as in attack or website ?

attack at any strong point i guess

    website http://p-car.com/products/tiedown/

i did a search as I need a recovery point on the XUV that can withstand being snatched
i'm thinking of modding these 4wd tow hooks rated at 10,000kgs , to the crossmember maybe to go in a slot.

The problem that you are going to have is that the front bar sits quite low compared to the chassis, therefore once you are winching it on, it is going to want to lift the front bar, popping it off. Your best bet would be getting one of the strap ones you have for the rear and feeding it through the bottom grille. But your bolt point is difficult to find

Just use the strut brace If they allow it and if you have one.
Up here they are cool with it and the sticker points to it under the bonnet

I used to have one poking through the front spoiler but it flexed on a tow and cracked the fibreglass so the strut brace is good.
The back I use a toe point strap in the boot bolted to the floor. Quick release and sticker to point at the boot for tow

Sorry just read for the trailer.
    My bad.
The original tow point on the gts has two bolts through the front metal bumper
Easy to fit, cut a hole in the spoiler and bolt it up (or rig up quick release on the spoiler if your spoiler is low

As Listy has shown, your tow-point needs to be as far forward as possible so that no matter whether the tow-line lifts or droops, it won't foul anything. Best to have a tow-point that pokes through your front bumper, or , bolts-on, external to the bumper

if it's just for loading , then get a hook or two , that'll fit the slot .

No drama, it actually answered a few of my own questions and provided me with a snatching point.

Also, with the electric winch. mount it as low as possible 2-4 inches above the trailer tray and not boat winch high.

That way you can load up the suspension when tying it down.

    Re: winch point Monaro

If you already have the winch mounted and its to high have a roller from a boat trailer added and put the winch cable under it so it stays low and doesn't pull up on the front bar

I mounted winch at lower bumper level amd used two rated shackles through chassis holes with soft sling and worked an absolute treat.
The $140 ebay winch works flawless and the remote control makes it a dream to load. I set winch up as double pull to make it easier on the winch. Can post pics when I get home from Qld
