Sandman panel vans and utes....identification?

I have a mate who is looking to purchase a HZ Sandman panel van....
What I'd like to know is how do we tell if it's the real deal or just a mockup?
Are there any other means of identifying these vehicles?
We contacted GMH and they say they don't have records
Any info or links to these appreciated.....

Unique Car magazine had a write up on Sandmans a couple of issues ago, ID plates etc, ther was a very original Sandman van in the same mag but it was pricey.
