Best I ran was a 12.3. Full weight with circuit tyres and coilovers set up for the circuit. If you want fast times with a VE leave the suspension stock and tyres with big sidewalls. I could have run faster if it wasn't for the horrible axle tramp in the VE.
1.09 Wakefield, 12.3 @ 115 WSID Circuit Tyres
only did one pass then had some small issues so headed home !!!didn't think the wind did much but I basically drifted the whole track was a 1/10th down at the 60ft with a 1.55 went 9.2 @154mph compared to 2 weeks ago wed night went 8.90, 8.94,8.95
Thought I'd update this thread, with some M&H drag radials I was able to manage a 12.29@114, was still running with the spares, jack etc. in the boot so there is a small improvent to make there yet.
Best run was a 1.80 sixty footer.
Dont think I'll get that 11 without some more power, might be time for a bigger cam and heads or NO2.
SSUte01 I keep meaning to PM you when I'm heading down but everytime seem to be a last minute decision to go.
Do you know the specs of the cam? And do you run it with the air filter in or out?
Cam is a VCM 21, 217/225@50 113LSA.
Still run with the air filter in, my logs show map pressure of 97-98kpa, with the engine off it was showing 100kpa so there might be a small gain in running with the air filter out.
I have got a couple if other small thing to try out before I admit defeat, there is a way to get the ECU to act as a two step so I want to try that out, I'm going to replace the rear mufflers with with straight pipe which might pick up a little bit of power and save some weight, I also have a small amount of knock only in 4th gear that I think might be false knock, need to put some octane booster in next time I go down to see if it disappears or remains.
What sort of OTR is it?
Usually a tenth or two by pulling the filter which will get you pretty close. What front wheels and tyre pressures do you run?
How are you launching it on the radials?
VCM OTR, bit of a PITA to get the filter out, thats why I haven't run with it out yet.
Stock SSV front wheels, running about 42psi.
To launch on the radials I bring the revs up to 5500-6000, hold the handbrake on, when last amber comes on drop the hand brake press accerator to WOT and release the clutch to try and keep the engine at 5500-6000 untill the clutch is fully released. Not sure how much longer the stock clutch will handle that LOL.
Is the filter doing anything anyway in that OTR? Same bad reports going around, hence the redesign that's coming... But it would be worth pulling out.
Pump the fronts up to 50 but your launching tactics sound fine.
Mine has some stick on foam to seal up the gaps, also has a crack in the bottom (damage not design issue) that I've seal up with resin, I really should replace it I suppose if they come out with a better one.
Apparently the new one is almost due for release, just fine tuning. Similar to Harrops new one from what I understand, which is also very good and well priced
Did a little experiment a couple of days ago, removed my stock rear mufflers and replaced with short 45 elbows to prevent the the pipes pointing at the bumper. While running the car like this would save about 15kg, back to back logs within and hour of each other, same road, same weather, same tune, etc. and the MAF recorded almost exactly the same g/sec for both runs, so the open exhaust made no measurable difference engine power. I'm kinda disappointed although I dont think I'd want to run the car like that anyway as it was painfully loud and droned like crazy.

That will give you an idea of the way to launch it.
Nothing more satisfying than an awesome launch with a manual box!
