It's purely mechanical. Only opens with specific flow.

@ 2:05 in the Wheels video you see him toggle the bimodal option in Mylink under Sport Mode Settings. Doesn't appear to be any other settings for it.

the enhanced engine note is from the pipe that runs from the intake to the firewall. So even if you upgrade the exhaust you will still benefit from the noise pipe.

I think it's bloody great, good on you Holden for listening to the buyers.
I will order mine to replace my current CalaisV when my lease is due at the end of next year.

Well , Ive been waiting for the LS3.
Was going to order a Redline ute.
Might go for an SS ute with Brembos and save 10K for mods
    Thanks Holden for the upgrade

Yes, I don't understand why you would want bits of crappy plastic sitting on your bonnet perishing in the harsh Aussie sun, unless they actually served a purpose.

Wait, what? Plastic? I assumed they're metal. If they are plastic then I'm worried. I don't want plastic on my Hsv

You can't please everybody all of the time.

I would have liked to have seen 6M in wagon and CalaisV but will be happy with an SSVR.

My ultimate would be a CalaisV 6M with all the Redline gear and sport body kit. Holden Senator anyone?

No different to the non functional side vents really.

The blurb on the VF II page says:

    Hood Vents
Hood vents on V8 sport models allow hot air to exit the engine bay and enhance the dramatic appearance of Commodore VFII.

Not sure what the go is with the photo, but in the presentation they did say the hood vents, and the new vents on the facia are both functional.
