    Hi

It is a beautiful car, I am also sure it drives fantastic. But for me it will always have that special someone missing from its design and development who is no longer with us and that is why I still prefer the original VK. This is also based on the series 1 VF, I think it would have been nicer to be based on the current series 2 VF.

    Regards,

    GTSRVF

I reckon it's total ridiculous that they can put Peter Brock's name on this car, when he had completely nothing to do with this car what so ever...

Being just over 9 years since, the great man is no longer with us.

    What a joke!!!...

As for the non functioning tacked on fake bonnet mold, which has no correlation with the sweet design lines of the VF bonnet, what were they thinking...

They must of used the same guy that designed the AU Falcon.

Had a quick look on carsales for a laugh, and sure enough there's a guy on "Acid" asking $130K for a 2012 VE / HDT VK Retro Group A...

The guy that bought it, is thick as, the guy that designed it...

Yea its a half arsed outfit. I asked them about their about their super dooper F3000 8 piston caliper brakes and they said um we dont have those we just get our brakes from harrop stamped with our name. Nothing wrong with that but why bullshit on about 8 piston brakes

Actually I have read the history of the HDT company & Brocky not only owned HDT, he was a huge part of it,
the guy who owns HDT these days was a great mate of Peter Brock's & is doing these as a tribute to the great man.

Its still total False Advertising , having his actual signature on the car, which he had zero input into...

If he wants to use his name after the fact, it should state that fact, ie in memory of / tributing Peter Brock, in any text format other than his actual signature...

I think anyone who bought one would know the story.

The guy was actually also PB's business partner.
Nobody is forcing anyone to either like them or buy them & everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

IMHO I can't imagine Brocky would have had any problems with HDT building these

    ^ correct.

It's a tribute car, it looks spectacular, and it has more than enough styling cues to tie it back to the VK. It's not designed to be a replacement.

.. Champion officially had nothing to do with HDT until nearly 30 years after it started
    and
their website can't even get the original story right. It was the dealers in particular Vin Keane from SA who coughed up $
to help Brock get cars from Holden to build into what we know as 'Brock' or more correctly HDT Commodores. Keane
even lent Brock the blue 'SL' Commodore which was the prototype....

Yeah, Champion bought the company in 2007 but he had been mates with for many years and a former business partner of Brock.

    Rrom HDT's webpage...

"In 2007, following the death of racing legend Peter Brock, Peter Champion took over the reins at HDT. Peter Champion who is not only a good friend of Peter Brock’s, but also an avid collector who has the most comprehensive collection of Peter Brock road and original race cars in the country. He jumped at the chance to link this iconic brand back to its founder and add it to his collection.

Peter Brock and Peter Champion had many discussions over the years about what they would do if they had the opportunity to re-purchase the HDT Special Vehicles Company.

These plans included building road cars again under the HDT banner. When he was able to complete this very special purchase, Peter Champion decided to realise that dream and started to produce the Heritage Retro series
. He started with a prototype VC/VE retro......"

That's what HDT is about these days, that is why they do what they are doing...
