Hello all,
Just wondering what your thoughts are on an L76 6 Litre V8 being fitted with Pacemaker/Genie Extractors, stock standard cats, and twin 2.5" mild steel exhaust with no resonators. Anyone done a similar system? I'm predominantly looking for a beefier sound from the V8, and any extra power is a bonus, I'm not looking to mod my motor at all in any capacity.
Cheers

if you are just chasing noise then just go a catback
You won't be able to re fit the shitty std cats with a set of extractors anyway to the best of my knowledge (unless someone makes shorty headers for VZ), they're a big restriction anyway. Catback and tune would be better IMO.
Xforce 3" cat back and win at life
GM: Has millions of dollars and highly trained engineers.
Guy in his backyard: Has a hole saw.
Yeah cheers fellas, will take the advice onboard, appreciate it.
Actually a query, if I was to go the Cats back, do you have the high flow Cats put on? Or keep the std Cats? And what price should I be expecting to pay?

You can do either way, most would do just a cat back first.
If you just go catback I'd start off with keeping the standard cats unless yours are shot. Catback only you could spend from $100 for a decent second hand system to well over $1,000 for a new, really good stainless system. Sound is a matter of individual taste so what one person thinks sounds good others will think sounds crap. Therefore if at all possible try to hear whatever you intend buying on a car before handing over your hard earned and preferably go for a ride in the car to make sure the potential drone doesn't drive you crazy! Be aware that any of extractors, cats or cam can change the sound of a system so it's pointless listening to for example a cammed car with extractors and cats and expecting an unopened car with catback only to sound anywhere near as beefy.
Also be aware that some of the less expensive systems have a quite unique sound that some people love but others dislike!
yeah cheers mate, was listening to some cars with XForce twin 2.5" back on Youtube, didn't sound too bad tbh.
Unfortunately YouTube can be quite misleading as it depends on the quality of the device used to record and your speakers. Be careful with XForce as many of their systems have quite a unique sound, described by many as raspy/hollow/farty. Fine if you like that sound (basically just loud) but many people don't. Many of the regulars at my local shop can pick an XForce system before seeing the car because of their typically distinct sound. That said I have heard a couple of quieter more refined XForce systems which sound quite ok, one in particular I did a long trip in and it was very nice! Absolutely no drone but sounded great when floored.
Also meant to add that it's absolutely pointless listening to anything in VE/VF as they have a totally different exhaust set up, or pre VT2 as they have different motors with different firing order.
