    Re: The Wonkyjet

Had Ben (Maccas on here) give it one of his awesome Macca's OCD Details a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately it rained the day he did it so couldn't get any pics then as had to stay dry for 24 hours for the top coat to cure, so these were taken about 100km later with a very fine coat of dust. Big thanks to the original owner who took the pics for me.

and a close up to show the "pop" in the paint.

    Re: The Wonkyjet

Just had some magic worked by the guys at APS. They replaced the stock valve springs and front blower belt about 6 months ago and I finally got around to getting it back in for thermal spacer under the blower and retune last week. While the blower was off they discovered the back belt was shagged so replaced it too. With all that done the standard fuel pump couldn't cope so a new (Harrop I believe) ZL1 fuel pump upgrade was done.

APS ' new dyno is even tougher than the one it ran 367rwkw on at our last dyno day, the day after it ran 391 on another. It has also run 385rwkw elsewhere. The guys at APS reckon the new one is 10 - 20 lower than the one it ran 367 on.

All good now with new fuel pump and hermal spacers - 385rwkw on a very safe tune by Luis the master. Picked up 35kw running 9.6 lb boost with now plenty of safe overhead to go higher, not that I will as that's plenty for me!

I'm sure it would go well over 400 on many other dynos. Going to get someone to run it at Calder for me before the end of the year.

Thermal spacers seem to do a great job as Luis said he thought the highest intake temp he saw on the log files was only 54C, very good for a HTV blower.

    Sounds fantastic Gary,

I have heard quite a few people say that Luis is one of the best tuners around.

I bet it feels a lot better to drive now all the way through the range.

If the intake is running that cool

Gary would be much better spending some of his giant stack of money on a cam.
