Yep. I read somewhere that they're only selling something like 50 total per month. Not enough to justify bringing in more/multiple options....The V8 gets decent reviews over the V6 in the states too. I believe they're looking at a possible TTV6 so that may become an option for a bit more poke

nobody will be doing that .. if as expected (the money markets are still wondering why it has not happened yet)
the Pacific Peso (also known as the Australian dollar) goes below $0.50c. Some are forecasting a drop to $0.45
    and
that will give EVERY car company heartburn, as the cost of bringing in a car to this country (freight is also paid in US dollars to the shipping companies)
just went up 50% ! (with the $ going from 0.75 to 0.45)

The pollies responsible for this don't give a rats a#*e, after all it is us taxpayers who pay for the cars freely available to them (either as limo transport or personal)
Turnbull has started the rot already. C1 has always been australian made since the 60s but not now!

Shorten is right to look on in disgust

I said it years ago but never though it would become a reality when the Hyundai looked good.
The Genesis R-Spec would be my pick, 429HP V8 RWD, 8 speed auto...

It was Tony Abbott that first ditched the Holden for the BMW

I'd like to see Chrysler bring out Challenger and Charger.

Do you seriously think Australian Muscle car enthusiast would go for such a car?

Why not! Have you driven a Korean car lately. Their quality is very good. Be great if we could get the v8 Genesis here. It's loaded with tech and from all reviews it's a good engine

new commodore, german built, AWD turbo sounds ok to me for quick family car... we will still have V8 options from ford and Holden (at some point hopefully).

as for the asian sedans, i think the koreans surpassed aussie build quality many many years ago, sad but true.

I see Genesis as replacement for Calais or Caprice v8, a luxury sedan. i don't see it as Muscle Car (eg SS, XR8 and HSV). Most of the 6cyl Genesis I have seen are driven by Limo drivers, who typically drive a Caprice.

Yeah I could imagine a few SS buyers going for something like that if there were no more V8 Commodores.

(I think they will be most likely be serving up one with over 450HP in the next 12 months)

It probably won't appeal to the young rev heads, but as I've got older I like a few creature comforts so it would be a good replacement for a Calais.
Sure, it's no M5 but for $180K less it goes close on performance and features.

How do you define a muscle car? Is my Heads and cam VE Calais soon to be blown less a muscle car than a stock SS?

    Who knows Rod,
these days we see people driving around in 253 or 308 HJ 4 doors & 186 or 202 Toranas
(some that wouldn't have enough power to pull the skin off a rice pudding,) calling them "Muscle Cars"

I think anything goes these days mate.
