Question VF Calais V Sat Nav update

Does anybody know if there is a way to update the Sat nav in a VF Calais without having to get a service done to get the update at $129. I am a retired Holden mechanic and life member of the I.A.M.E. and the dealer will not sell the update to me at the cheaper price as I do my own servicing.

I have the current most recent update in my car. A mate gave it to me for free though guys on Facebook sell copies for $50. PM me. I had a feeling list price was $16x? Over $160.

wtf, you have to pay for an update? How is it not just part of any regular software update? especially if still under warranty etc.

Yes heard our local dealerships here in Sydney are asking almost $200 for the update on my VF2 bit less if having it serviced.

    rip off that!

the satnav update (extra maps + update/fix old) is $160 RRP (as per Holden) or
$129 done along with a service

Note .. this is not a fix so it is not covered under warranty (you are getting more stuff)
and no... they won't sell it to you (as Holden/dealer vehicle records will not match what is actually on the car if they don't do it)

Yes it is a rip off as the Holden system does not even have the most important warning of school zones. We all know where our local schools are but when you travel you are in foreign territory. I have to have a add on unit to warn of school zones- not good for an expensive car

Re: VF Calais V Sat Nav update

The maps I have which I'm sure are currently the latest (else I'd have seen people selling them on FB) are MY15 update (released 2016) Config D313, sw version 8319.

In VE it might display as the maps are loading but if not it definitely comes up in one of the settings while in navigation mode. (Info???)

Mine warns me when I'm nearing a school zone in school times but it's not very accurate. Even going along a freeway at 100kmh it can warn you of school zones and railway crossings on roads running parallel and out of sight.

I have been quoted $50 plus return postage to update my SD card or $80 inc postage for a new SD card with 17 maps. Map version code 8418.

Unfortunately I've just noticed there are two different versions 1. VE iQ ($50) and 2. VF Mylink ($80) as Dickie said. On FB. PM me for more info if you can't find it yourself.
