Oh, and I replaced the front 8kg/mm springs with 5kg/mm in the hope of improving that launch, should have done it years ago car rides so much better.
Long, long time since I've updated this thread.
Since the last post the car has had an NPC clutch, VF axles and some other minor mods, it has run 115MPH but the new clutch has made cleaner launches more difficult, still haven't bettered that 12.29.
As of this week the car is official retired from daily duties, replaced by a Pajero so what better way to celebrate than tow it to the Sunday street meet and lean on it.
This will probably be my last chance to run an 11 in its current configuration, after this it will either get heads and a bigger cam, replaced with a VE ute or sold to paint my HQ.
Loaded ready to go, hope the rental trailer holds up, its a bit of a POS.

Well, it looks like the changes I've made were in the right direction at least, despite the 32 degree temps I managed to drop my PB to 12.140@114, ran a best of 117MPH for the day also a PB.
Very satisfying to see some improvement for the changes made, a cold night and a decent launch might see that 11 yet.
Surely a cooler night will get it there. Hows the 60 foot time? 117mph should be more than adequate
Still sluggish 60 foot, a good launch is usually in the 1.8 to 1.85 range with the occasional high 1.7, the springs seem to have helped the launch consistency, I had 9 runs, 4 were wheel spin on launch or missed gears, the other 5 clean passes were all under my previous PB, I know 5 out of 9 is not super consistent but it is an improvement on previous outings.
Well, never got there, sold the big girl a few weeks ago to some young bloke who hopefully wont wrap it around a telly pole.
As luck would have it a GXP ute that suits what I want came up at auction a week or so after so I am now the proud owner of what I'm sure is the roughest HSV GXP ute in Australia but it will clean up ok.
Once I get the panel work sorted out and get it rego'd the mods can all begin again, will be shooting for a low 11 or maybe a 10 NA, but that's a long way off yet.
I'd post a pic but photobucket has gone postal, will try and add a photo to the garage.
Sounds great mate.
You can add 4 images (at least 4, it may even be 5 sorry I can't remember 100%)
to each post just by using the "Insert Image" tab on the top of the posting box where you write your posts.
(It's the 3rd one from the end on the right. Just run your mouse over the tabs & you'll find it.)
Don't need to use Photobucket etc. to put up pictures & they are a pita for what they are doing.

I just pay $US25 per year and have full access as I have had for probably 10 years.
