Use a different host. Everyone has been boycotting Photobucket since they decided to start charging for something they've always done for free. Plenty of other free services around

I use this on the leather...can buy them seperately if you only need the cleaner or conditioner (about $20 each)

Not having a lot of luck working out how to make image hosters work ... and I'll have no news until after next weekend when I go back down to Bridgetown where the car is garaged anyway: so just to keep the conversation going (in a non automotive way) I will disclose the reason (do I need one, really) for buying an old holden V8 and driving across the country and back -> the (indi alternative type) country rock band I play steel guitar in us doing a bit of a tour between Melbourne and Sydney in October. Rather than put 10 grands worth of vintage musical instruments in the hands of airline baggage handlers (and because I feel like a drive) I decided to drive myself. The rest of the guys are flying, but no doubt they will fight amongst themselves for my passenger seat when van hire time comes. At this stage we are doing Ballarat, Geelong, Phillip Island, some pub in Fitzroy, Canberra, Maitland, Newcastle maybe, Wingham of all places and the Union Hotel in Sydney. The band is called Ralway Bell (yes, no "i") and you can see some film clips and stuff on FB if a bunch of 30 year olds playing heart-on-your-sleeve country rock with a 50-something yo steel guitarist is your thing. I can update you here on specific dates venues if it actually IS your thing, would be great to meet you. The date after the Union hotel on 15th Oct is Northam WA on 21st, so I'll have 5 x 8-10 hr days driving to do that. I'm sure the Stato will be fully shaken down by then!

Update. Car checked out fine. Had it thoroughly checked over by a V8 guy (Simon Negus - was a group A mechanic, now runs a workshop in Balcatta WA) He changed the diff oil, replaced the centre tailshaft bearing and drive coupling, unblocked the windscreen washers and says its all good to go. Nothing else needs doing*. There are a couple of minor engine oil leaks which he will have a look at again in a couple of weeks, but he doesn't seem too concerned about those. Total cost of car to date bullet-proofed $6300. Which I'm pretty happy with.

*he did give it a complete check-over, checked all fluid, belts, suspension and steering, reset ecm codes, replaced an air filter, a couple of globes

Stato goes back in for a follow-up check, just to confirm that my minor oil leak is, in fact, minor
and to track down the source of a "Squeaky tick" which I expect is a lifter. It goes away after about a minute. I am so deaf I cant hear the tick, but I can hear the squeak (I thought it was a shiny belt) My passengers insist there is a tick/tap. Maybe the squeak and the tick are not related. We'll see

When I sort out this URL thing, I will post a tour poster, and a picture of the Stato. For now, the band plays on the following dates:
