Yeah, all centred around the powershift transmission. Was in the media here late last year. Mate at work has a manual and loves it.
Not funny for the owners...

Spose it's all too late for any publicity for the company now!![]()
I have a 2012 manual Fiesta, no problem at all, I have 75,000 Km on it, all good, excellent little car. The problems with Focus and Fiesta are all with the Power shift auto transmission. I would have bought an auto as my car is mainly a commuter, but I didn't want to spend extra $2K on auto - I dodged a bullet with that decision. The current Focus LZ autos are now conventional torque converter auto, and teamed with a 1.5 turbo I reckon they be a very good car. Fiesta auto on the over hand is still Power shift, I'm amazed they are still selling them brand new. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the LW/ LWII Focus for sale in Ford dealers are buy backs of problematic cars. Focus LW and Focus LWII also WT and WZ Fiesta autos are purchases to avoid. Manual cars on the over hand are excellent cars.
Still the depreciation will be tarnished of the manual as well, so at the end of the day it won't matter as both Ford and Holden fall down the Sales charts while people shop elsewhere.
Especially for Powershift Autos for Ford after owners being given the official run around, then a hardware fix when software does nothing an then for it to re-occur.
This is the typical Ford Fob off run around they are known for. Owners should be compensated for the multiple endured wasted dealer visits (Time off work - inconvenience etc.)
So glad Class actions are happening in Australia these days as Australian consumers have been taken as Chumps by the US and some Euro makes like Mercedes & VW groups for a long time.
Warranty on paper and fit for purpose under Australian consumer law can be a big joke to these corporations vs the minion (Individual customer).

My bosses “spare”car is a Focus with transmission issues.
It’s had a few gearboxes, the most recent one when she had to drive it to the dealership at 10pm, because the thing couldn’t get out of first gear.
What a debacle.
Especially problematic for Ford, as it is an entry level car, so they would be burning serious cash on this.
I feel for the owners.
Correct! This will cost those stubborn Ford scum bags more in the long run then if they replaced all the cars for free. I'm one of those that bought a new Falcon years ago and experienced poor designs, poor quality and shocking warranty support to get "anything" fixed. So I will personally never ever but another Ford- I'd rather walk... plus I recommed to everyone stay away from Ford. I'm so happy I"'ve saved many many people from the pain of owning a Ford. This makes me happy as it cost Ford a lot more compared to treating me right. Bring on the ACCC and the lawyers as it is the only language the dumb asses at Ford actually comprehend.
