Heard off a few late build quality dropping(same happened at ford) they arnt going to spend to much on equipment lead up to shutdown.
My Jan 16 build paints is ok but not as good as my 08 VE ute or 09 daily
I'm unhappy with the paint on my new sportwagon. It's like all the hinges had been pulled while the paint was still wet and has left jagged edges of paint were the hinge meets the body. Is this normal? It's going to be a nightmare to keep them clean. I also have a small paint run down the rain channel of the tailgate, and the panels don't look fully sealed under the chrome tailgate strip. My VE didn't have any of this. I have logged the issue with the dealer but haven't had time to return it yet (it was raining the day I picked it up, so couldn't really do a good inspection). Just wondering if you guys have noticed and what the dealer has told you?

239/247 goodness............
Frustrating, my neighbours VF1 doesn't have any issues, wasn't expecting any with the SII.
LOTS of paint issues at present........
from HSV having to repaint panels/sides of cars thru to paint defects around door openings
and paint missing on ...anything any model (edges of the bonnets seem to be worse with that from what i am hearing)

My VF2 seems fine, only gripe I have is front bumper sensor aperture tiny spec of paint chipped when they fitted originally. Beside that all good.
Funny how the camera flash has picked up the dirt, most of this is not seen to naked eye, anyways:
Burst paint bubbles, runs, un-even etc top of tailgate rain channel:
Paint appears to be pulled away on all door hinges, un-even etc:
Sheet metal doesn't appear sealed under numbe plate light/tailgate opener, looks like water already tracks in:

That looks very ordinary mate, I would not put up with that!![]()
Made the mistake of sticking my head under the car last night, wow... Wish I hadn't - I'm not even sure I want this car anymore, at least my engine still works, for now.
Bolts missing (no signs they were ever there), clips missing, cover panels flapping around, a rubber isolator hanging doing nothing, one of the exhaust hangers almost off, exposed wires, electrical tape coming off, big dents and paint missing from the chassis rails and exhaust, at some point the car has been on a jack or stand and the paints been chipped right off. And a new development my rear drivers side seat belt gets fairly hot after a longish drive, the kids don't want to sit there anymore because the seat belt is too hot I suspect there's also a heat shield missing.
I think the "care factor" for some of the workers at the Holden plant would certainly be dropping off a little by now.
Update, the car is back with the dealer, looks at this stage Holden (Factory) are saying all is good, it's "normal" and I should be lucky to own one of the last real commodores - WTF. The dealer on the other hand isn't happy with the response and are getting someone in to see if anything can be done to at least make it all look better.
I looked around the yard, i seems the issues are relatively normal for a period of builds, even the HSVs, the W1 on the other hand they had had zero issues - go figure.

Meh, everything seems to have been thrown in the too hard basket. The car has come back to me filthy and with cup/drink rings on the roof of the car, only touched up a few areas.
Off to get second opinions.
