    VE Maloo radiator removal

    Hi All,

I need to replace the radiator on a VE11 Maloo 6.2 manual. Does anyone have any info on how it is done. Does it just lift up from the bottom once everything is removed or is there more to it.

    Thanks

    John

Remove your intake, oem or otr,
Un clip the fan harness adjacent cowl.
Unclip fan assembly lift upwards & out.
    Undo two upper rad retainers.
Disconnect both Rad hoses & overflow pipe.
Disconnect both Hyd lines from internal cooler if A6 only.
Lift fan assembly upwards & out.
    Should just about cover it.
A good operator would do one R&R in 20mins.

one of the co cars burst a rad last week and it got towed to a dealer
here in northern burbs of Melbourne

quote to replace it (on a V6 EVOKE) was just over $1100 (!)
$480 for the rad (and coolant and clips) and .... $650 for labour!

Car was 3 years 3 months old and had done 75k.. and I spat the dummy
on this (and rang a Holden Fleet service guy I know) I complained that
the dealership labour was a rort (and how about warranty too on the rad ?)

It got 'sorted' and final cost to us? $87 for coolant and new hose clips

In addition to Micks list, and not sure if the VE II is the same but on my 2010 Maloo the AC condenser is held to the radiator via 2 bolts at the top and 2 vertical pins at the bottom, the condenser has to be lifted off the pins and pushed forward out of the way before lifting the radiator if you don't want to degas the AC, its quite a pain in the arse but it does come out.

VE11 condenser is the same set up as your one, do you know how much coolant it will take to refill.
