Different lids have different brackets so best going to whoever made the lid.

Typical dealer........ I've never looked closely at a factory one but on my previous SSV ute the brackets at the back of the cabin were biiiiig!! Is that the latch at the back in your pic?

I would most likely make up something myself to fix that down, it looks fairly simple.

If you are not confident, I would suggest going to an aftermarket accessory seller who sells & fits hard lids, canopy's etc.

I am sure someone in one of those shops can retrofit something,
they might even have some of the same brackets or could point you in the right direction to get what you need.

That latch looks very similar to the one on my ute which has a slimline Holden one fitted with the lock mounted on the top as opposed to the back like the large twin hump one.

Just having a look at it, the bracket is bolted underneath one of the tie down brackets. Can you buy new ones? I know EGR made/make the twin hump ones. No idea on the slimline ones, though I suspect it might be the same people.

Why not... just loosen the adjustment nuts on the top and bottom of the U bolt at the fwd and aft ends (L/H & R/H sides), and adjust the U bolt vertically down the required amount to remove the gap between the lock latch and the U bolt. Then re-tighten the nuts to lock the U bolt in the lower position. Will take same trial and error to fine tune it.

Then the rattle will be gone...

Cost nothing to adjust it, be fixed in less than 10 minutes...

    Ve ute hard cover brackets

    Hi.
Bit if a random question!! I have a ve ss with a genuine hard cover. I've found that over the years the 'u'shaped brackets that the hard cover clips into wear out. Ie..the hard plastic wears away and causes the jard cover to be locked down and rattle during driving. Ive been using duct tape to build it back up and it works for a few months before it wears away and does the same thing.
Wondering if anyone had had the same problem and solved it another way? I can buy new brackets but kmow ill end up in the same place!!

    Thanks for any advice

Without seeing the bracket, could you cut up some thin pieces of rubber & glue them with some contact adhesive?

Ah the same thread starter. Have you tried SASLS1's suggestion?
    Thinking out loud...
Undo them totally and slide over loads of head shrink tubing???
Build them back up with epoxy araldite putty or the glue??? then sand it back down again...

How much are the new ones?

Whoa my bad, i completely forgot i posted the same years ago!! Sorry!!!!
    Thanks for merging.

As for trying the move the bracket, ive done this a few times and in the end the problem becomes the same.

Quoted $300 for a new kit which id be happy with except would end up the same i suspect.
Shrink wrap is an idea...ill also try clark rubber to see if they have anything

Could be worth going & talking to the guys at Jaycar as they have some new types of shrink wrap products in there.
