I don't think anyone saw this coming. Interesting move, but it's clear Dan had lost confidence in Red Bull using Honda, and perhaps most of all, Red Bulls' likely treatment towards him
Didn't see this one coming.
There had been talk of him going to Mclaren, but I thought the general consensus was that He would stay with Red Bull.
Big dollars in Dan's pocket I reckon, and good luck to him, He seems to be a very genuine person.
Pickles.

The relationship at RedBull seemed rosy to outsiders but most likely pretty toxic with clear favouritism to Max. At Renault Daniel will have the benefit of clear #1 and le professeur as a mentor and hopefully Renault can finally deliver a competitive powerplant. Interesting that Horner is quoted as hoping for a win or two next year with Honda and then better in 2020. Anyway good luck to Daniel and I hope this is a Hamilton move and not an Alonso move!
I was hoping he'd end up at Ferrari or Mercedes where with his obvious skills he could put plenty of wins on the board.![]()
I was hoping Ferrari too, I think a lot of the teams worry that with effectively two #1 drivers they split the wins and that lets another team in to potentially take the WDC. Sounds odd but there was some talk on an F1 forum and the numbers are possible.
Pity. I would like to see him in red. I just hope Renault finish ahead of RedBull next two years.
