It's certainly a rare & collectible car, with Ford racing links and pedigree - however, it's not a "matching numbers" car & it lacks the critical compliance plate stamping (unlike the Calypso green P4). It will still sell for a premium & really the only limit is what someone is prepared to pay. My guess is around the $1.25m figure...

Well then, we're about "equal" in our estimate?.....But, it only takes two who want it, and if ya had "Two Bowdens", who knows?

Yeah, there is quite a few people wanting to buy it as I would have expected.

I wouldn't think that all the serious buyers would even be bidding on it at this early stage because the auction has over 2 weeks to go. (No point in pushing the price up.)

I think it's around about half way there at the moment.

Hmmm...... 2 bidders, bidding against themselves 3 times in row... looks dodgy to me...

That might explain why the bid history is not shown...

There would be absolutely nothing dodgy going on with the bidding.


Quite often when people bid on online auctions they enter an amount in a "Maximum bid" box (not just a single one off bid)

then if someone else bids there bid is not shown, only the next allowed increment of bidding by the other person is shown, thus bidding seems to be bumped up.

(Same as on ebay)

Example, if the bids were at $300,000 & someone (let's call that person "Bidder X") put on a maximum bid of $500,000
every time someone else placed a bid under the $500,000 it would just show that bidder ("Bidder X") being the highest bidder with the price rising
until someone outbid the $500,000 maximum bid.


Quite often outsiders can't see the "hidden" bids.

It must be set up (like ebay) to incremently increase your bid after a certain amount of time to your maximum
