Driving in I saw these two together...
On the way out we drove by and there was a White Audi R8 parked in front of the Aston. Would have been a contender for tick-tack-toe
Hate the colour but absolutely love the car!!!

They probably thought the same thing!
We all have diffefent ideas about what is cool and I admit I am partial to D and E type jags. At a recent GEAR day there were a couple of very nice restorations. Both road registered here in Q though they were trailered to the track. I think the first shake down run before more general use.
This car has been restored to original condition with the exception it is running an alloy 3.8L block.
Workmanship is superb.
This car was a basket case restored as a replica of the '63 and '64 LeMans racer. Jaguar were working on a mid engine car to replace the D type and it was delayed so they build 11 lightweight streamliners. All alloy up front and hand made aluminium body. The body is different to the usual couple as a result of wind tunnel time. The lighter weight and aero body meant another 35mph on the Mulsanne straight. Unfortunately Enzo Ferrari got wind of these streamliners and the 250GTO was pushed forward to compete and history shows it was the better car. A bit of sad history with one of these E types being involved in a major accident in the '64 LeMans.
I wasn't aware of the cars and thought others might be interested. For me these are both cool cars. I prefer the convertible to the coupe but this streamliner is my favourite shape now.
This car runs a 4.2L engine. Huge primaries on the exhuast and ITBs. Ran around 400hp on an engine dyno and then picked up another 30 or so during tuning in the car. Weighs about 1,200kg. Both cars were driven hard and I am scared to think what they are worth.
Again an amazing job. Both cars restored by a company in NSW.
