Oh Ted![]()
I never thought in a million years when I bought my VTII GTS in 2000 that I would see the day when Holden would cease to exist. They were on top of the mountain back in those days.
On the plus side, give it a couple of years after Holden shuts its doors for good and I reckon a 1 owner low k's GTS will be worth a pretty penny![]()
Sad, "tired and emotional." Hmm. Lets see...
I was born in 1948, with the 48-215
FC Holden, first real girlfriend, with layback bench seat... get my drift
HK GTS 327 first burnout and near death experience
HQ 350 Monaro first wife
LH SLR 4.2 Torana first house
VH SS 4.3l after first divorce
SV5000 first auto
VTII HSV R8 first LS Chev engine
V2 HSV Coupe first 300kw+ engine
W427 first 7l
W427 and another, after write-off
Gen-F GTS first supercharged, and last
...
And now, I'm fukd... Just awful. My life is over.

Some good buying coming up but that said, they're only going to get cheaper over the year. Even as a die hard, I'm still very hesitant to bite the bullet. A lease could be a good option as resale won't matter so much.

Red Hot M6 VE SS Ute. Curves yes please on my women and my road.
Great if your a buyer... but on the flip side it Totally Annihilates the resale values in the used car market for those models...
Be thousands of pissed off newly acquired owners who paid near full RRP before the Holden Fire Sale, now Holden / GM just totally pisses in there pockets not giving two F#%*'s about the used car market.
Clearly David Buttner 100% knew in advance of the up coming Holden Fire Sale, just 2 weeks after stepping down as chairman and managing director of Holden, he purchased a Brand new Toyota HiLux...
Not a Holden Colorado....
His personal resale value of his Toyota HiLuk won't be effected one iota from the Holden Fire Sale...
Today you can buy a brand new... HOLDEN COLORADO Z71 DUAL CAB 4X4 AUTO T/D for $45990 driveaway... when just yesterday they retailed for RRP $57190...

Dave buttner was probably given the hilux by toyota. Fantastic marketing from toyota as usual.
Anyone who has paid full RRP for a holden in the last few months has either been living under a rock or is just crazy. There have been plenty of advertised cars with slashed prices for a long time as dealers havent been able to move them.
GM dont give a shit about holden or its customers. That has been made very clear by the way they have dealt with and treated holden over the past 15 years.
I'm extremely saddened by the whole situation. Broken promise after broken promise to holden customers means there was no trust with the brand anymore and regardless of the cars they were selling Holden was always going to fail.

16% be interesting to see whether GM will make a better offer?

City Holden Hillcrest this morning. They have moved all stock to Mile End by the look of it. Consolidating the two dealerships. Servicing department is remaining open for now according to the sign out front. Sad sight though, bought our last 3 cars from this dealership![]()
