Didn't realise there were such things!!! Would love to do it but suspect my claustrophobia would kick in. Panic at 8,000ft!![]()
before everyone goes.... WTF? and I am not talking about the Jag
I have flown one of those.. powered gliders.
Powered gliders? Starting point before you go and do lessons in a normal/proper glider (of which I have had 6)
No tug to pull you up with the birds, your instructor takes you up to 8,000ft ...and turns the engine off.
Turns to you and says... your aircraft sir.
and you spend the next few hours watching birds ..yes I am serious as they are expert at catching thermal updrafts.
oh and other gliders of course!

Just a few of the cars parked in the grounds at the back of the National Motor Museum after the Bay To Birdwood Run today.
Love the old Valiants! Do you know if it was an R or S Series Ed?
See the old Corvette got a look in.![]()
There were quite a few Valiants there Gary, I reckon the white one is an S series
because, from memory, the R series had a large rectangular badge in the middle of the radiator grille
with a different bonnet catch system.
(Now I am really showing my age & car trade background to remember random stuff like that!)
The Red Charger was a VH E55 340 cubic inch, it was an absolutely gorgeous looking thing& very rare car. (It was not an SE, it was only a 770)
Talking about Valiants........

Father of a guy I knew had a VE Valiant Regal VIP wagon in the late 60s. The first V8 I ever had a ride in. Even then I loved the (muted) sound of the V8.
Chrysler V8's IMHO are the best sounding 8's Ive heard in my time![]()
A blown LS sounds much better IMHO Mick.![]()
