Couple of snaps of the refurbished OEM SS Wheels. Not cheap, but Aaron at Extensive does a fantastic job.

    Looks good Rod.

I have got 4 new tires on my OEM wheels for my old SS
now I'm just waiting for the motivation to fit them.

Each weekend lately has had a forecast of rain or there has been events that I want to take the Corvette out to

so I have not done anything with it.

There is a track day tomorrow at "The Bend" that I want to go & see so if it is fine I might just register it & drive it up there.

Yeah, pretty much over this SA weather. Every day I try to ride my bike it is just miserable and puts me off. We are heading to Middleton for the long weekend and every day looks like zero sun from what I can see. This is the first winter where myself and my wife have discussed that maybe this is not the place for us

Winter here has been much wetter than usual in my opinion

but the forecast has often been so wrong saying to expect a gloomy day so have planned for one then it has been fine.

I had told people I was not going to a big Chev thing 2 weeks ago then at last minute as it looked fine had to scrub up the car to go on it.

(Turned out to be a very good night though.)

Palmer Hot Rod show is on Saturday & it looks like heavy rain at this stage so if it fines up a little I might go for a look.

I also think there is a big Corvette meet up at Victor Harbor for the weekend so could even have a look in there if there is a decent break in the weather.

Actually Saturday doesn't look all that bad at this stage.

It has a decent Holley on it now Mick.

I had supposedly the best guy around here rebuild the Quadrajet, it still weeped from the well plugs
& was doing about 25 litres per 100kms.
Holley has it running much better & using around 15 litres per 100kms.

I would have liked to left the Quardajet on it but nobody around here could sort out the well plug leaks so that is why I changed it.

I remember sending my 650 Holley off my Charger back to Adelaide on a bus from Nowra back in 1991 to be refurbished. I am pretty sure they included all the leaks as part of the service for free, had nothing but trouble with that carby, including a small engine fire at one stage.

I have had loads of Holleys over the years, my son has had a few also, if not set up you can have problems.

As I said before, I wanted to keep the Quardajet on there for originality but I just had too many problems with it leaking.

Everyone I spoke to about it told me who to get to fix it but it still leaked so I gave up spending money on it.

Here is a picture of one of the leaking well plugs, whenever I switched the engine off the carby was draining down into the intake.

Anyway, all sorted now, Holley Street Avenger on there & doing everything the way it is supposed to.

(It's on an adaptor plate even at the moment but have an Edelbrock 2101 intake manifold
sitting here on the top of the next things to be done list.)

I would take reliability over originality every day of the week Ed. Don't have the patience for unreliable cars.

    Exactly!

I did not mention how hard it was to start it was if it had not been driven for a couple of days
because the carby was drained & the old mechanical fuel pump had to get the fuel up there as well.

Hey I keep all the original parts so if requires somebody else can fit it back on later that is up to them.

There is not many switched on Techs who work on Carbs these days, funny though in reality they are far simpler than any EFI setup, Go figure. If your keen I know a good Rochester Guru down here in Sydney, reckon if your keeping the Vet it would be better in the long run.

    Thanks anyway Mick

but the carb was working okay but it was leaking (could have been a fire hazard as well)

& I spent enough time & money on trying to sort it out.

Now I have got the Holley & Edelbrock & it works fine.

    Thanks, yes mine.

None of engine bay at the moment but here is one of the interior.

& another with roof down. (The car was dirty the day they took that picture outside Outlaws, the wheels were also covered in brake dust.)
