    Red face Re: Dirty Eight

Here are more pics of the B pilar going back in

Inner and outer skin made and installed

    Replacing rotted steel

New piece made ready to weld in. Made this piece out of heavier gauge steel to give some strength back as this adds structural integrity to the body

This piece really challenged my skill level. This wasn't the first attempt by the way.........
Sharp curve at the front that runs out to a gradual curve at the back. I did all this using wooden bucks and big hammers

    Cheers

Wasn't going to post anything on that as it doesn't have an LS in it and is not a holden/chev.
    Briefly,
    - Its a 1928 Dodge Senior
    - Engine is a all alloy Big Block Buick making 923hp NA
    - Billet internals TH400
    - 35 spline full floating hubbed 9 inch
    - runs mids 9s over the quarter
    - fully engineered and registered
If you want to see more there is a comprehensive facebook page FAST28 and youtube channel
    Cheers

    Re: Dirty Eight

Yeah I was removed from Sydney Dragway for running too fast on numerous occasions as I have no cage or parachute.
The power the engine makes, should see us in the low 9s high 8s, but I haven't had the chance to run it that quick. Not sure if the car has it in it as I never built it as a race car.
I never wanted to put a cage in it as for me its strictly a fast hot rod!

Here I am leaving a Nissan GTR on the line..............

This was my last outing at Sydney Dragway before I got the boot

I have since mounted a Kirky race seat and 6 point harness so I can atleast get teched for 10.7sec
    Cheers

It pedals really well. I think the long wheelbase helps a lot. Although the braking area gets a bit sketchy when youre cranking thru the traps over 140mph

    Rather you than me buddy!

You certainly would not want to try it in Adelaide with the much shorter run off.

Here is what FAST28 looked like when I bought it back in 1996

Excuse the artwork from my kids

New crossmembers, rear end and front end installed

Rear floating hubs and 28spline to 35spline axle comparison
