    Bathurst.

Absolute ripper race yesterday IMHO, & a well deserved victory to Chaz & Lee in the quickest car.
I think that. despite the knockers, (which have always been there, I've been watching sinse the 60s), that Supercars is in great shape.
The "new" Mustang & Camaro look good, & it will be interesting to see if there's any truth in an article in yesterday's Melbourne Sun that Walkinshaw has almost done a deal with Jaguar.
The only thing that "grated" me a bit, is Skaife's CONTINUAL use of the word "extraordinary", check him out if you listen to a telecaste......but I enjoyed this Bathurst "Event" 100%.
    Looking forward to 2022, Pickles.

    Re: Bathurst.

I enjoyed watching it apart from Mark Larkham's continuing soap box with boring rants.

That guy really gets on my nerves.

    Re: Bathurst.

then you have Roland Dane declaring at this years event -
Whingecup is the GREATEST Touring car driver of all time ...EVER!
Better than Geoghegan, Beechey, Moff, Jimmy Richards, others and yes ..even better than Brock. C'mon.

Can you imagine him wrangling a Phase3 GT-HO, Group C Falcon or Commodore around the mountain ?

No, I actually can't imagine too many of them these days doing that.

They used to drive the whole race solo with no two way radio, no cool suits, no air conditioning,
no power steering, no computer checking everything for them & no safety cars in all types of weather.

And.... they did not have all the safety barriers & run off areas with doctors
& safety marshals all around the track with two way radios that they have these days.

    Re: Bathurst.

I always watch the "Great Race" & have so since the early 70's. This years race really came alive in the last 50 laps & it was very satisfying to see a Holden victory.
I didn't think much of the late start time though. Would prefer a more traditional 10am start..

    Re: Bathurst.

Unfortunately for me as someone who has watched it from the 60s (I'm an old bunt ) the safety cars, while now an essential feature, mean you only have to really watch the last 20 - 30 minutes.

without safety cars the leader would've been at least a lap up which makes the racing quite boring

I remember watching Brock lap some others back in the day & to be honest it was actually quite enjoyable to see.

No we know why the senile old butthole is being put to pasture.... better than Brock, as Mr Darryl Kerrigan would say "Tell him he's is dreaming...
