I have the tenancy to slow down right until idle then throw the clutch, this idles rough.
Dave couldn't get it to stall this morning engine not really hot, i will get out again this week for a longer run to get everything hot this is when it first stopped on me.
I was taught to use both brake and clutch, our 2 eldest can drive a manual but tend to knock the car into neutral when approaching traffic lights hell my old man used to do it Coast up to intersections.
Anywho i will see what happens this week.

So Kyle is able to drive his Ute now it did stall on him coming up the street he had thrown the clutch already as he was in second gear approaching our driveway and it died.
It is warmer today than it has been so i will get Dave to have a look at it when i am able to nick it from Kyle.

It's not safe to drive the car if it is randomly stalling,
it's not just a nuisance but every time it stalls it loses power steering & brakes.

I would get on to it urgently Wayne.

I am not a fan of arm strong steering ,not the thing i want for Kyle ,it also takes at a bit fire up again i will be off to see Dave tomorrow seems to be more prevalent in the warmer weather,i have been out and about in it the last week and it was fine but last week was not remotely warm.
Other than this little issue it goes really well .
Kyle tells me no point using 6 th @110 he is getting a feel for it seeing as it is his to now use ,not every day though .
    Weekend Ute .

I had problems throwing a the belt when I first fitted the Harrop supercharger on mine (all sorted now)

I can tell you first hand that I was shocked by how the steering on these things gets so heavy without power assistance,

they are not like the older cars.

I guess with the wider lower profile tyres of today in conjunction with the much more aggressive alignment settings of today (lots of caster etc.) this is to be expected. Power steering just hides it.

So i have been out in all sorts of traffic back streets Hills, slow stop start didn't do anything at all drove nice kept to the speed limits or just below no problems at all.
Then sitting at a set of lights the idle just dropped right off taco was on zero i did catch it but it would have stalled,i was in neutral clutch in waiting for traffic.

Ute is back at EP Kyle rang me 9.30 ish had a low coolant alarm, he works in Edwards Town we live Parafield Gardens, so off i go to his work place.
Sure enough she be leaking lots, filled res up and thought stuff it i will be fine.
Left our car for him to get home, looks like a heater core hose has been squashed up against the RHS head right on the edge.
Anyhoo they are going to sort that out for and have a look at stall issue when hot.
No rush when it's done i will just go and get it only 5 minutes from home so no biggie.

How did it all go mate? It wasn't the overheating causing all the issues by any chance was it?

Sorry bit busy with other cars,it was a heater hose that got pinched on the RHS head replaced at no cost ,haven't got the stalling sorted just yet getting back to that this week .
Have had fuel pump problems with our Blue Berlina ,the second time in a month .
It now needs a pump stopped on the wife in traffic Peak hour Salisbury Hwy on Friday have to belt the crap out of the fuel tank to get it to start so i have to get that fixed ,as for the Ute it only gets a run once a couple of times a week and only does it's stalling thing hot but i will go off on my way tomorrow and organize a time day to get it fixed .
We were going to fly to QLD new week for 7 days but decided with all this Covid crap once again that we will move that to march next year ,
Blue car not needed for the next week or 2 ,the wife likes it over the SS i like the SS of course, i have the Ute to use or if Kyle takes that i have his Berlina to drive if i need to .
Never a dull moment here good thing i joined the RAA didn't need to get the blue car towed home this time .
Now to figure out who to do he Job .

So the Ute has been in and the tune looked into, they are waiting on an IAC Solanoid the idle will be set @1000 rpm, part hasn't arrived so it's still there, if it's not here today by tomorrow they will have 2 of our cars there..
    So we wait..

Ute is back now all sorted no crazy idle issues and it didn't stall nearly but it did what it was meant to do and kicked back up.
Pulls like a steam train all the way to 6k..its fun.
