Getting it done at UT next month, they are booked out until then. Carpet goes in on the 29th and then swaybar on the 13th Ed

Re: Another Holden in the Family :) - Part 2

Had a bit of good fortune with the seats over the past few days. Picked up a pair of VU SS Seats for $100, and one set of VX SS foams for $120. The seats are stuffed but the foams are good in the passenger side, plus I have foams from my current passenger seat and the extra ones. I also was fortunate enough that the bloke I bought the foams from pushed me in the direction of a very nice bloke called Frank who is Guru Leather. Long story short, the seats, door inserts and console lid are being retrimmed in a Carbon Black (Is a very dark grey really) with red stitching and red SS logos in both seats and console lid. Hopefully should look fantastic. My wife talked me out of going red, and Frank agreed, so black it is. Also going to dynamat the doors in the next week or so. Also got a small coolant leak under the front and covering the bottom of the sump (seen during oil change) and buggered if I can find it (thinking water pump maybe). Anyway, it goes into UT next Wednesday for sway bar so hopefully they will sort that as well.

I have dealt with Frank a few times, his work is quite good but I think he can be quite expensive.

He was cheaper than my other option Ed by about $800 and he stitches them up in house rather than 3rd party doing it. He is also doing the console lid in the price which was not included with other place.

Got a bit of an issue. Took the passenger seat out yesterday and now that it is back in and airbag plugged in the airbag warning chime will not go away. Tried scanning with my cheap arse scan tool and that cannot even see a fault code. Any way of resetting this, or will it require a workshop to reset?

I think you might need a workshop quality scanner to reset it, the cheap ones generally won't.

I have been very careful about setting my air bag light off,
last time I did was lucky because a mate was service manager at the local Holden dealership
& he sorted it for nothing.

My son told me that they use a Snap On scanner at his work which does the job.

I suggest you talk to your mate at UT & ask if they can do it for you?

Yeah figured that might be the case Ed. It goes in next Wednesday anyway. Was hoping to use it in the meantime, but that annoying bong bong bong is going to ensure that does not happen lol

UT might be able to do tomorrow morning for you.

It would only take them 2 minutes to help a good customer like your fine self.

Geoff would have no issues doing it, will see how keen I am to use it over the next few days and go from there

Only thing I did different this time when removing the seat was start the car with the seat removed. Previously I have removed the seats and replaced them with car dormant and no airbag issues. I assume this is where I stuffed up.

Yes, that would do it, even if you turn on the ignition with the seat removed or unplugged the light will come on.

These days I remove the negative battery terminal before I mess with the seats.

A mate was working on his car when another family member unknowingly started the car.

Yes, Rod has been using one of the Ultra Tune branches for general maintenance work for quite a while.
