Oh and I stopped buying "Wheels" magazine in October 2017 when Holden closed. Bought every single issue from 1984 to then, so it was an end of era is so many ways.
ditto me... for the 1st Van Wheels to the first Street Machine (both wrapped in plastic these days i might add) I lost the 'interest' the day the music died...no more SM for me!
guess I felt betrayed, pissed off even.. given my father sold an old Austin 7 2 seater and bought a used 48/215 all coz I came along (he never bought anything afterwards that did not have a Holden badge)
and here I was driving the best thing Holden ever made (made more special in an R8 Clubbie) when a mate of mine (known since we were in short pants) who was in a senior position at Holden rang me,
the week before it was official and said.. it has all gone to sh#*t and my job from next week will be sorting / managing the internal moral of Holden people* when GM announces Holdens closure in a weeks time

He knew I had worked there (one reason he joined GMH) and was giving me the heads up (and of course keep this to yourself until the GM medial release goes out... I did)

I see no passion in an electric motor wrapped in car panels... no noise, no grabbing that gearstick, no rumble on the over run. Another reason to drop the SM subscription... there would never ever be something
new, no new car models to do up/roger....make go faster! The music had died

ps.. mate at GMHolden? got his pic taken alongside the last ever 'complete' Holden built. Bastard sent it to me with a big 'Up yours, I am here and you are NOT! greeting from Elizabeth VAP

It's not the same as it used to be, that's for sure, & the type of vehicles they appear to focus on these days, in the majority of cass, isn't relative to my likely day to day driving, but it's just about the only Aussie mag of its type left, since the demise of "Motor", it enables me to keep up with a bit of stuff, so I usually buy i!
But there is another "motor" magazine that I wait for, & buy, the best of its type on the Planet IMHO, & that is "Octane". I don't know whether you've seen it in shops etc, but it's a brilliant publication with usually around 250 pages with contributors like Derek Bell & Jay Leno, & stuff on all soets of cars from Vintage Bentley to current F1,& everything in between.
If you haven't already seen it, check it out, it usually takes me a couple of weeks to get through it!

My days of buying car mags are over - take up too much space I did however, buy the last ever edition of Motor as that was another mag I bought from the the mid-80s.

Street Machine and Unique cars for me. I then hand them over to a mate or give them to the Salvos so that someone else can enjoy them. No EV in either that I have seen.

My Son In Law (a Mopar Man!) gets mine, & after He's finished with them, He hands them on to a young autistic boy across the road from him, who absolutely loves them,....but not "Octane"...I've a few other friends who like it!

I took this pic yesterday in a Westfield car park where I also park when I am in the office.

I've seen this car in the same spot for most of the week and I suspect the driver is also using the carpark while in an office for the day.

I think this situation presents a moral dilemma.

Is the Tesla owner stealing electricity or not given that some shopping centres now have dedicated EV charging spots?

Also, does this picture represent a sense of entitlement to a certain spot, such that there could be issues if an ICE car parked in the spot? I've seen enough stories around complaints that people are parking in the "pram" carparks, but not having a pram, even though the "pram" carparks are courtesy, unlike the disabled carparks.

I would report him to the Westfield centre management. They might even report him to the police.

    That is simply theft.

People like that get right up my nose.

It is your duty as a upstanding citizen to turn that power point off each time you walk past it.

    Re: The truth about EV's

Some of you may have seen the comparison between an EV & IC BMW on a 900k road trip in the media recently
Haven't got the exact figures, but the EV cost more in electricity ($131) than petrol ($117) in the IC vehicle & the EV took 2.5hrs longer, owing to charge up times.
    The article is below.

    Here is the clip Martin.

Yes, I saw that on YouTube, you can't argue with the numbers

but I do not have much respect for all these self appointed "Experts" who keep popping up with their own personal media channels these days.

These clowns are bobbing up everywhere.
