brake fluid leaking out top of reservoir

Hi guys I have a vx ss commodore my brake fluid is just fraction under full mark on the reservoir but when i take car for a drive fluid seems to come out the top near the seal not a lot but still leaking. I tried taking some out to around the half way mark and it dont leak. Is this to low for my fluid level or should I just buy new top and seal. Checked my old and one seems ok and everything else is brakes etc is ok thanks

Check your seal again but this time gently flex the seal. There could well be a crack in it that you arent seeing but seeing it is leaking then definately replace the seal.

Dont muck around with shorting the fluid level. It holds as much as it does to ensure correct operation....

Forgot to mention to I changed my front brake pads and bleed brakes and ever since this fluid is seeping out from the cap. I bought a new seal and cap made no difference at all. Fluid level is half way atm in reservoir and still seeps around the front of the cap. Cant take anymore fluid out or its gonna start getting low then. Will I have to flush entire system out put new fluid in. I checked car other day after a drive I took cap off and the front of reservoir is fair bit higher then the back. Got me stuffed wasnt doing it before I changed my pads and bleed brakes. Starting to get a bit annoying now seeping and running down into engine bay everytime I take it for a drive.

Anyone ever have a similar problem and found a fix for this? Got the same issue and can't find any solutions online

If you put the cap on the wrong way as in 180 degrees rotation it will leak as there is a small breather in the seal on one end which needs to be at the back towards the firewall.
