Anybody got a glovebox light in their 06 SS?

Hey guys.

I have just discovered this morning that apparently holden isn't putting in glovebox lights for the 06 VZ except for higher spec cars ie calais.

I thought they must have missed the light in my glovebox and asked the dealer to put one in this morning and he said sorry mate they don't come out in the 06 they don't even have the wiring there!

I have a mate with an 05 SSZ ute and he's got one in his.

Can somebody confirm this for me? Anyone with an 06 VZ SS got a glovebox light?

that has got to be the single worst case of cost cutting I have heard of!!!! my 1978 VB commodore (no luxury designation, not even an SL) had one!

What are they saving? $30c per car?

BTW: my current nissan patrol has a light inside the ashtray! (but no rear aircon vents - go figure....)

Howdy, I can't say that I've noticed a light in my SS glove-box. But then again I don't open it very often. I'll have a look at lunch time and see if there's one there, I kind of doubt it though.

LoL reminds me like the Landcruiser we just bought you think for $86 grand you get a light in the glove box hehe has everything else bar that hehehe...

If Holden didn't put that in, thats dodgy, i thought all the cars now come with same specs off the production line, just some items are added etc.. Ie same level BCM's not like the older 1 2 3 levels?

My VQ glovebox was aircondéd I used it to cool a carputer

i have a standard VZ ute i have a globe in my glove box so they must of taken them out or even forgoten about it!!

Same as with my VS Stato.
Bit of a wank but a cool feature when the wife keeps chocolate in there on long trips.

not a new thing from holden.my 03 sri barina no light! these were top of the range too when they came out.a sign of things to come i think unfortunately.

Thats miserable aint it... Just a square hole with nothing in it! I also found out that the seat belt warning chime/indicator thingo isn't installed in the utes. I read the manual and it said that it had it. I asked them to fix it cos it wasn't working but yeah no go in the utes. No biggy tho.

Next they'll come with handle bars instead of a steering wheel!

my dads VZ Exec has a light in the Glovebox, although it is late 05.
