Any experience with Falken 329 or Pirelli Dragon ??

Has anyone had any experience with Falken 329 tyres?
I've currently got Falken 326 and they are rubbish, wondering if the 329 is an improvement.

Also, has anyone had Pirelli Dragons, I am confident that they will grip, but I am worried about wear rates.

I don't wish to rude, but please don't suggest any other tyres! An yes I have used the SEARCH function!!

    Hey mate,
Whilst I havent directly had any experience with the 329's, I have heard that they can get a little noisy after a bit of wear and that their wet weather grip is only marginly better than the older 326. I went for the FK452 instead and am rapt, so maybe a better option??? I had 326's before and I agree they are crap. Mine had started to split above the lettering on the inside tyrewall and Falken were good enough to heavily discount the 452's for me as replacement.

    Cheers,
    Adam

Got the Dragons on the ute, had em a while now, really good IMHO for a cheap tyre, and I was very happy with their performance in the rain the other day.

As far as wear rate I don't really know yet, I have put about 8K on them and they look about the same to me.

The only thing I don't like is the fact they don't have a real big ridge around the outside, you know the bit that tries to protect your rims, its only about half the size of the Bridgestones.
From memory the set I put on the ute were $700 incl wheel alignment (would have to check though).
    Cheers,

Thanks for the feedback guys, I ended up getting the Pirellis, I have'nt done many kays on them but they seem grippy and quieter than my old Falkens. Nice big grooves on them so they should be good in the wet.

Im looking at the Dragons in a 17" ($259 fitted/balanced) - anyone have anymore feedback on them for me..... very indecisive about what to go. I have been on Bridgestone Poteza since new (2 sets) and cannot fault them... except now the RE050 is like $360+ a corner.

Anyone have any comments on the Dragon or any of the below?

    Dunlop Direzza
Yokohama A-Drive R1 or Advan Sport

If I remember correctly, the local Quickfit bloke said that these tyres cost about the same, the Pirellis will stick better but wear faster than the Falkens.

Got about 25K on my dragons now, still happy with em, but have found that if you carry weight in the ute it goes through em rather quickly. ie: rears wear down faster than the front for some reason!
Also double check the price, mine was $900 for all four including wheel alignment, balancing fitting. ( not $700 as I previously thought)

Ended up with the Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin's.... just been for a blat thru some windy hinterland stuff and all I can say is AWESOME!!!!!
They stick like all hell, really make the ute feel super tight... for a ute anyway.
No idea on wear yet - but who cares - make the car much much safer.

I have the same tyres on my car and I totally agree with you, the adrenalines have a great turn in as well as hard stopping and acceleration grip. I was chatting to the brigestone guy about them and he said they were better than more expensive models and possibly the best tyre ever produced by them.

I got 2 of my tyres replaced yesterday with Pirelli Dragons (235/45/17) I have only had them for 24 hours so it's a bit hard to know what they are like yet, I can say that they seem to be quieter but that may be because my rears were down to the TWI's, the last tyres are Goodyear F1's.
I got my Dragons from Bob Jane for $229 each including fitting balancing etc, they currently have them on special apparently they are usually $300 each.

I have just bought 4 x 235/40/18 for $269 fitted and balanced. Look like a good tyre as far as tread. Would have to be better than the cheap crap I had on when I bought the car.
    Will let you know.
From JAX tyres in Castle Hill. Good bumch of blokes too!!
