I noticed a post on the forum relative to the P.I. Historics, so I thought I'd give my thoughts.
I'd never been to this event before, & so when a friend of mine said He was going & would I like to come with him, it was a great opportunity, particularly as our ride was going to be his lovely mercedes SUV,...21" wheels etc, & so many "programs" I don't think I'd ever understand them all, even had a massge program in the seats!
We went down on the Friday, so not caught up in crowds.
What a great collection of cars, don't know how many, but everything from an Austin 7 to an F1. And I did notice the Giocattolo that you put up Smitty, I was around when these were released and this would be the most pristine I've ever seen.
Caught up with a few friends of mine, Dylan Innes, Milton Siferis, Sheppo, Steve Tate, & of course "Tatey"! Ian mentioned that He was to be presented with his OAM in May.
The presentation of all of the cars was first class, particularly the Holden Group C, GroupA, Supercars etc, I reckon most of them were in better shape than when they raced.
But the car that most caught my eye was a yellow Perkins VL, ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, restored by Larry & Jack, I reckon it'd win any concourse it entered,....so yes it'd be my favorite for the day.
So much to see, I won't go on, everyone who's been would know all about it, but I reckon Friday is a good day to go, much smaller crowd.
Pickles.
