My Brother wants to put a Rolls Royce jet engine in the boot of his new VE. He has all the parts and the car, just thought i'd better check here to make sure it will fit before he goes to the trouble of trying to stuff it all in there.![]()
mclaren f1
step away from the crack pipe!
im also willing to bet, apart from all the obvious reasons why he wont do it.....Bugatti wont just sell a veyron engine to go into another car, no matter who he is.
To answer your question, NO. Even if it did fit he would need to cut holes all over the car to feed the large numbers of radiators needed for the engine, turbos and other bits in the engine/gearbox.
well, i disagree.
it COULD be done,
but it would involve building a whole new car, with just a strengthend VE Shell. Much like Rod Hadfields Tank-powered '57 Chev.
HOWEVER they guy is having you on. If he -DID- work on the original EB110, he's probably not an idiot, and would know that its a downright stupid thing to bother doing. If he really is a mad french scientist type, he'd be talking about putting it in a citroen or something cool and freaky, instead of just trying to impress bogans by doing a commodore or a falcon.
If you're quick, I noticed an old veyron being wrecked out at the local Bugatti wreckers here in Craigieburn. May be good for this project. I think it's on LPG too.
Seriously!
This is taking the piss on to a new level.![]()
I have a solution.
LSX - 454
Twin Turbo'd
1000+ horsepower
Save $300,000
Save $30,000 + on the 12 radiators required too.
