    Re: The Ute Gallery

WHAT are BAGS like as far as wheel alignment goes??
can they be used for performance track work ? does the wheel assembly move around anymore with bags then struts ??
is the ride a lot better with bags ??
is the ride height adjustable while you are driving say low for town and high for dirt country roads and any thing in betwwen
or is it just up or down ??
The alignment is set at your legal ride height
The Accuair self leveling keeps it there no matter what load you have
Springs and coil overs won't do this
The ride sits flatter than springs because the rate of the bags climbs quicker than springs

You only have one drive height
There is a raised height for driveways and such but your alignment will change when you raise it
There is also a Kneel setting

The car still has struts and only the spring has been replaced with bags
The shocks used are Bilstien and suitable for performance use

    Re: The Ute Gallery

I posted this info about my new seats in the my ride thread but never got around to posting it in the Ute thread. I had the seats fitted a few weeks ago and have received positive comments from those who have seen them. Best thing for me is with my cactus back I now get a lot more side support during 'spirited driving' and in fact the seats are more comfortable overall.

I had the 2 seats done, the door panels and the consol lid. I went for black leather with the perforated black leather on the seat base and back (in the centre section) and had blue stitching used.

As the SS Ute seats don't have SS or anything else embroided on them I wanted to put something on. My Ute is not a HSV so I discarded using the HSV logo and didn't want to use SS as it already has the SS badge on the rear panel under the back window. I decided to use the HRT logo and the trimmer played around with a few colour options and came up with Blue and white which I think looks great.

The beauty of it is as we used my seat frames and bases when I go to sell the Ute I have the option of getting him to remove the HSV foams and replace them with my OEM foams and trim.

I bought the genuine HSV foams off e-bay a while ago. They were advertised as GTS foams but when I told the seller I had a Ute he said he could supply the Maloo foams for me. The only difference is the Maloo does not have the section of foam for the side airbags removed.

Trimming was done by Warren at what was Customline Trimming (now changed name to Global Automotive Specialists) at Sumner Park. When I first went to his shop to check his quality I was pleasantly surprised to find that the majority of his trimming is for new vehicle dealers. I have seen models from Holden, Mazda, Toyota and Audi at his shop so I guess that says his quality is pretty good. I am wrapped with the quality in mine and would say it is better than the VY SS I owned with leather and that was a factory fitted job during production. Overall I couldn’t be happier with the end result

When you combine the look of the 'new' Maloo / GTS seats, the GTS dash cluster and the HSVi GTS leather steering wheel and gear knob it totally transforms the inside of the humble VE SS Ute

Cheers. As well as making the Ute look heaps more up market the seats are so good on the back. If anyone at all has a back problem maybe have a look at this option. I saw a set of foams for a buy it now price of $270 over the last few weeks and some trimming companies even sell covers for these ready made up with instruction quite cheaply.

It looks like you have some type of covering over the bottom of the bumper assembly or is it the camera playing tricks
