iv seen this happen to a couple of blown cars. i wonder if its because of the higher exhaust gas temp? if seen a set of difillipos do this too, so its not just x-force that do it.

just keep the "max flow" cats that you have now. you will never have a problem with them again.

I live in the "Backwater" Adelaide town in South Australia.
I have never heard of a "sniffer test".
I don't think we have that over here.
Has anyone heard of anyone being given a $10,000 fine for cats?
Has it ever happened or is it just a myth?
Where are these "sniffer tests" done are they like a random bum sniffing station or what?
    Cheers!

I know a exhaust shop in Melbourne that was given a $7500 fine for punching out the cats over a 3 month period of investigation so it does happen, just not talked about-

wow...That's news to me, before i bought my system i did alot of research on the df system & didnt hear one bad thing bout them. In saying that i know ive got peace of mind if any issues do arrise as Darren will deal with it straight away, ive personally met Darren a couple times & i know he's not the sort of bloke to screw around with you(same goes for sureflo).

Re: My blocked x force cats

well i see it this way,

you have hi flow 100cpi cats, fitted with a full exhaust system.

you get done for emmisions, so you have to go and get a test done.

the racing 100cpi cats will not pass. so you have to put stock ones on.

so to me there is no difference if you have 100cpi racing cats or hollowed out cats, both will not pass.

as a visual thing there needs to be (what look like) working cats. so when they look under the car its apperars to have them.

i know many people will not like what iv said, but to me it seems a waste to spend so much on hi flow cats when they wont even pass epa test. just keep the stock ones and for when/if you ever get epa`d and use hollowed out, or even better piped cats for the resrt of the time.

    Fair enough.
I know a big exhaust shop over here who is happy to put a pipe right through the middle of cats so they are just dummy's, (straight through pipe,) the guy told me he does them all the time.
But I was really just asking about "Mr Joe Public" driving down the road and being caught for bad cats?
    Anyone been done and how?
Has a "Mr Joe Public" ever been given a $10,000 fine?

I've never heard of it although i did warn my mate who runs no cat at all through his straight 3" pipe on his patrol. It sounds like a turbo'd truck, surprised he hasnt been caught yet.
