Wow, good job, and finished by 11am......
So are you going to swap these straight over crossmember and all?
Should bolt in pretty quickly (just a heap of wiring etc to do then)...
The transfer case looks pretty substantial.
Today!
OldNbusted so this is enough for today
Pics as promised.

Was done by 10:30 just took some time to put tools away then get back up to the house
I have to look at a High Stall get that in there then bolt the LS onto the Subframe and I'm good to go, I want to sort all of the wiring before I refit the drivetrain though so that means getting the car off the hoist.
(a mate is friends with the guys that own Dominator)
I have a pair of trollys I made to move the Lathe and CNC Mill so I can drop the car onto one and wheel it forward to get enough room to pull the entire dash..... can't open the doors far enough while it's on the hoist, only just had enough room to unhook the wiring behind the left kick panel!
I need to buy the V8 AC Hoses/lines and 4x V8 02 sensors as the plugs are all different, more than likely a couple of other bits and pieces as well..
I milled the Coil pack stands down on the rocker covers so I need to turn up some spacers for them then fit the new boots on the MSD plug leads.
Great build, keep up the posting.
The only driveline trouble you could have is 2nd gear band burning if you pump her to over 400 flywheel kW, after this you will need a built auto.
Always wondered why Holden didn't put out an AWD Tonner, would be a hit for sure.
May meet at an event one day, you never know.
AWD Tonner vs AWD Addy, sounds interesting.
Would expect the tonner to have a weight advantage.
Cheers
Steve
Thanks for jumping in Steve I'd hoped you would sooner or later,advice/tips are always welcome!
In stock trim you'd be wrong by about 70 Kg's
With the lighter Tray I'll be a bit under you but that will depend on further mods!
When I do the power up I'll go through the Auto and address any weaknesses but for now it "should" be happy enough at stock power..
Today!
Damn cold here today so another CBF'd day
Just ordered my High Stall and a bunch of parts from Holden so another trip down in the Whale tomorrow to collect everything!
Really glad you're enjoying it, it helps me keep active and organised and it's always good to get opinions, questions along the way.
I actually prefer an Auto so no plans for a manual, I did that in the last project and soon as I got to 340 rwkw getting a streetable clutch became problematic, ended up with a pig twinplate that spoiled the car, swapped over to an auto and have never looked back.
Last time I ran a Toyota 4 speed auto with a PCS controller and the T04z/L98 combo so I'm interested to see just what I can do with the 4L60 and HP Tuners, add to that I'm trying hard to make this project s Bolton/PlugNplay as possible so that rules out a manual conversion!

Great thread IJ - one of the most interesting in a long time.
Going to be a great car I reckon.
Today!
Well that was a fun day.....
Rang my Holden guy this morning all my parts were in then rang the guys at Dominator Convertors and it was ready to collect, special build and done in 2 days gotta love that!
Stopped at Dominator first and had a chat to Jason the owner about the project, he told me the V6 trans has a weak point in the input shaft and the V8 ones run a bigger Shaft (guess which TC I ordered... DOH)
Rang my Holden guy on the way over, not real expensive but NONE anywhere in the country... DOH 2
Rang Dave and sure enough he had a trans there he got as a spare, minimal haggle later and we'd reached an agreement on a swap of parts so I went to Holden collected my parts and headed back to get the trade parts from home then headed across to Daves, that was a 450 Km day again... I'm beat just unloaded the wagon time for a coffee and TV.
Today!
Pulled the V6 off the front end then slung the Crossmember on the Tractor and took it outside to pressure wash the 60.000 Km's of crap off.

You're getting a nice assortment of parts...
Today!
Had a Bud up here today doing some wiring on his Soarer, I figured since there was nothing on TV I'd go put the Front End back in the Tonner, gotta love how Idiot proof Holden have made it, huge improvement on the last Commodore I owned (1979 model) 20>25 mins and it was back on 4 wheels!![]()
