I'll DePin the Engine bay Fuse box on the new Loom and feed it through, Holden must thread the Loom through the hole in the Fireway before Bonding it into the shell as there's no way possible to get the Fuse panel and Horseshoe through the hole with the Strut Tower in the way!

I'm finding a few differences in the Looms already, I bought one for a VZ CrossTrac Crewman thinking it would be damn close..
(i.e. No glovebox illumination wiring at all, no biggie I can splice that in, more of a concern is no connector for what looks like a G Sensor mounted in the middle of my car on the trans tunnel.

I'll confirm that's what it is then trace the old loom and find out what it connects to.... ****it if I'd known it was going to be this much of a PITA I wouldn't have gone ahead but I'm too far into it now to turn back...
Keep at it brother! As a convert to the Cross-Trac system you are getting the full thumbs up from me! Perhaps you can fit a 6L into my V6 Addy next! haha!

Loom comes out as one. No need to cut it... How so you think they change out a faulty loom. You just need to pull loom out of horse shoe then remove fuses relays from holder and pass it through. Have changed 20 or so that way

There will also be a fair few other differences in the looms being ones a v8 and other is a 6

I pulled the Horseshoe off and all the fuses and relays, are you sure it will come out?
(Also stripped out the Brake Master and Booster)

Just waiting on a call back from my Holden guy on the Loom, seems like Holden build each loom to suit whatever spec the car is.... (used to be more universal i.e. a V8 Loom had ALL of the connectors/wires in place)

Yep v6 Loom is totally different but things like a glovebox light I'd have expected to be standard across the range...

The Sensor looks to be a Yaw Sensor, if needs be I can trace it back and rob the plug and wires from the old harness.

Went back out and tried it with the Old Fuse box and still couldn't get it to go back into the Cabin, found "Mr Goop" at Holden had gone a bit nuts with the seam sealer and heat shield so trimmed that all back then tried it from the Cabin side as if I were installing...

DAMN tight but went through, isn't going to be nice on a brand new harness so I think I'll "bend" the opening a touch to make it easier then knock it back into place once done

Didn't spot an SAS while I was pulling it apart today, I'll look again in the morning.

Traced the Yaw sensor wires, they go into the ABS Pump so I ferreted them out of the old loom, bit curious about the glovebox light and switch though...

found it ... actually the diagrams and manual are really confusing...

will be very interesting if this ESP works on the 8...

manual shows only v6's with ESP but the diagrams are a little different

Thinking about this, doe the BCM run the ESP or is that a PCM function?
(If the code for the V8 isn't there or even an option I'd be wasting my time running the Sensor wires)

It communicates through the can wires and is tied into the transmission computer.

    Good to know

Thanks for the help, I spent hours trying to get that bitch fuse box through the hole, would never have believed it was possible looking at the angles.

Really don't understand why they do shit like that, FFS make the hole 20mm bigger end of issue.....

Console and glove box lights were removed during VZ as a cost saving measure (believe it or not) along with a few other low cost items..

Google or search here of "decontenting", Holden's name for ripping bits off their cars to make a few bucks extra.
