your not alone, ive felt the same thing with mine.
With a United e85 tune, when i use the eflex, it uses more fuel, slight drop off in power in the top end but overall runs perfect, slight sooting up of the tips.
When using the Untied fuel, there is a bit more power, exhaust is clean as and you can smell the ethanol content a little more. Fuel usage is reduced.
I've not seen this in any stations on Brisbane southside. Anyone know where it is available in Bris?

Couple of those suburbs probably have cars still running on super.
I'd consider this if I went F/I, which ill most likely do in the future.
Is it hard to convert a pre-VE Commodore to run on E85?
Have a look at Oz Garage website. There's an interesting video on page 10 I think. It's episode 10 - fuel comparo. They test them all. There's a couple of other episodes on there where they try E85 but episode ten is the comparison with the other fuels, it does pretty well too if I remember correctly.
Why are we paying so much for E85?
I really don't know. But the demand being so low is probably a contributor. Thing is though for demand to go up with more flex fuel vehicles coming on to the market. People aren't going to bother with it unless there are real savings. Most people couldn't care less about the performance advantages.
i believe electric cars are just a gimmic and not an answer, hydrogen is the answer now we just need to work on the solution.
and the age old fuel problem.... for me it always work out to be a few bucks difference at the register, the price of a beer almost. so i drink a beer less and always opt for the better / more fun fuel.
