3k is ridiculous! Nice pick up
Ok earlier this year I picked a tidy 02 VX SS white 4 spd auto for $3k .
It had oil pressure problems and was a trade in at a local caryard. To cut a long story short I got it cheap because of the mechanical issues.
I work at a GM dealership and I was thinking of a quick stock rebuild as I can get discounted parts etc.
But the bug has bitten and now,and hopefully it will be a 10 sec drag project.

haha yeah the badges will be the first thing to go.
I have pulled the engine and its at the machine shop now.
I'll list all the parts with pics soon which will form the base for my high performance rebuild.
Nice score anyway M8. Thats the exact same model that I have right down to the trim..

Nice that's a very cheap SS you have therealso nice bunch of parts you have collected.. What specs are the camshaft?
