getting my m6 vz thunder into the low 12s?

G'day lads, I'm looking to run 12.4 or better in my l76 thunder.

It currently has stainless cat back. 4-1s, otr, tune and twin plate to go in just after chrissy.

With a set of 3.9s and mt ets would it be possible to shoot for low 12s with those mods?

Sweet, I'm guessing I'll need at least 110mph.

I can peddle a manual ok, ran my manual vlt years ago to a 12.2 @ 115 with a 1.5 60ft. Never ran it at the strip when it was making 330rwkw

should shit it in with a 6lt motor. i used to run 110~112 with a stock ls1 motor with exhaust, extractors 4 years ago.
It's happened before, It will all happen again.

i'd guess maybe 113-115 mph, if its 260+rwkw zone, which a L76 with exhaust and tune should have.

sweet fellas sounds promising. I'll let you know how it goes in Jan with exhaust, intake and tune on the 3.45s and street tyres first.

Poolkeeper I havn't ran it at the track yet but I put a car length on my mates vy ss which already has otr, 4-1s, twin 3s and tune. Also manual

I'd be stoked if I could break into 115mph, that would mean that 11s wouldn't be out of reach bolt on!

Couldn't see why not, with around 280rwkw I got a 12.14@117 with a 1.89 sixty footer in my M6 monaro with ET street radials. Prior to that with a smaller cam and 270rwkw I got a 12.38@114 with a similar sixty footer.

Also unsure whether it was due to a lack of skill on my behalf but the best sixty footer I could ever manage on 235/60R15 street radials was around 1.89. A mate of mine who doesn't go on the forums used the 275/??R17 street radials and managed a 1.78 sixty footer. Maybe the wider footprint generates more grip?

yeah I'd guess it would generate more grip.

Can anyone tell me if VS SS III (vt ss 16s) wheels will fit over my thunder brakes?
They are the 320mm rotor ones.

And ifso, would I fit 245/16 radials under it without dramas?

if you can get your 60s down to 1.78s, that should get you into the 11s.

What diff gears do you have and how hard are you launching it?
