You will not be disappointed with the idle and how fast the power curve actually is, it's the exact same as my comp cam in my 383, it's also very streetable for a cam this size.

Re: The 02 VX SS project

Im hoping to have it back in the car by Xmas / early January, the parts were all delivered to the engine builders shop yesterday, heads are being assembled on monday so its just a matter of time now. We were going to do it here at home but the engine shop quoted us $1500 for all the maching/balancing and assembly of the long motor, I supplied everything parts/gaskets etc. that was too good a deal to pass up.

For sure it's a prick of a job measuring and assembling but worth paying for someone to do it. Keep the updates coming as it progresses

Yeah as often happens you get addicted to chasing more power/torque.I'll put up a break down of the parts maching labour costs etc in the coming weeks.Just eager to get her back in the car now so diff /auto and converter can be played with next.Hoping for low 300+ rwkw. Will be putting her up on the dyno when tuned.

I hope it lives up to my expectations, if so this will be a great weekend track toy, and my daily work ride (only 2km round trip to the holden dealers I work at)

That's a good price, what engine shop? I was quoted $7k for a complete build including heads cnc ported.
