Forum Upgrade Issues / Requests 201112

I know it has been mentioned that the jump to the newest post isn't working however the page icon next to the posting date and time used to be a different colour for post I had not yet read however they all seem to be the same colour on the new setup. Is there other ways of picking posts in threads I have not read or is this on the long to do list? However all in all the new forum setup is looking fantastic.

I can understand the work involved with this forum upgrade and appreciate your efforts.

Is there anyway we can get the 'go' button at the bottom of the page in the 'Quick Navigation' area? It is a really handy function I know I use on most forums.

Is there anyway you can go back to the 'classic' LS1 forum skin? IE I know on some forums you can change the appearance / skin at the bottom of the page where there are a few options. Personally I really liked the old setup (text seems really big with the new setup) but I am sure we will all get used to it.

It is great the maturity on this forum. On a lot of other forums this thread would be 30 or pages long by now with people winging and carrying on.

Quick question... is the forum now set to a particular resolution or is there an automatic resize function that is not yet enabled for those who are forced to use ancient hardware on occasion with max screen res of 1024x768?

i have noticed when you do the search thread option at the top, you can't read the lime green writing in the white box

Just a note I am fairly busy with work until after NYE so I will get to look into everything as work dies down and I have more time to iron out the kinks and get the new features sorted.. It's a time consuming process and I feel it's better done in stages and get the feedback in stages as well Thanks to everyone who has helped with finding bugs/errors and I appreciate the positive feedback

I am getting a "out of memory at line: 1" error when i am browsing each page on the forum. Webserver low on memory??

I don't see this on any of my test accounts .. I would say that it could be your browser??

can we have the jump to area put back on the bottom of each page again.

The Jump menu is there it's just now the "Quick Navigation" Menu at the bottom of the page..

I can't see the issue you are having with the jump to new post, can you put up some screen captures and point out exactly what it is you are seeing/having problems with, colour issues are yet to be fully ironed out..

What is the "Go" button exactly?? This is the automatic conversion of the old forum skin but it needed a lot of work to get it looking consistent ad the old vB3 styles are not compatible with the new vB4 so I have basically had to go do the whole skinning by hand again and there will be colour issues yes, please highlight in this thread where colour problems exist so I can try and rectify them, colour suggestions would also be handy Later in the year I will ask for people to submit colour styles as well and the best couple will get a permenant spot on the forum for people to choose different colour themes

I had set it to 1024 minimum width before the horizontal scroll bars appear, I might rejig this after NY to 768 .. I'll put it on my to look at list

im having an issue were i cant see any pics that are posted up in posts? was all fine before the upgrade

Whilst that issue is fine for me, it would seem it is non-validated members who can't see pics

Non validated users can't see files/pics that are loaded as "attachments" to a post, which is also the way it was before the upgrade. The reason for this is that noone should be using the attachment feature except for images uploaded for the Forum Garage (which is only for Validated members). Any pics found uploaded to the server that aren't part of that feature generally get deleted.
All pics should be hosted externally on places like Photobucket etc - All users Validated or not can see any pics that are hosted via these externally sites.

I have circled in red (crapply as the circle from paint did not appear in photo bucket?) the little page icon that used to be highlighted in yellow for unread posts.



It is only minor and if I can click a button and go to the newest post then that will do. Once again the upgrade is looking fantastic and obviously taking a lot of work.

Great work with the forum upgrade, it really has a new look. As mentioned above it would be good to look at screen size resolution as I have always run 1024 x 768, however with the upgrade I now have to scroll across with the horizontal scroll bar to read posts.

I'm sure this is on the list, so thanks.

I have noticed on occasion with mine & others that when writing out a sentence & it reaches the end & starts a new line, the last word often repeats as the first word again in the new line.
