If HSV is to ever become a genuine up-market brand, they need some serious lessons in this regard

Yep there are alot of people that actually know each other and aren't surrounded by secrecy like Davo

Maybe he should take heed of his own signature as it applies to him 99% of the time

I reckon Davo is a great asset to this forum. Like some of us, but not all of us, he will speak his mind when he feels like it, everyone knows who he is, where he works (and some even (childishly) have a go at him for that?) & he never shrinks from an issue. He doesn't hide his identity, or his opinions, & is certainly not a "keyboard warrior".
I enjoy his input, knowledge, & contribution to the Forum.
Simply because you don't agree with a guy is no excuse to make personal, derogatory comments......to do so, simply discloses your own "personality".

Re: Does HSV understand its Market?

    To Seldo & Pickles . .

Firstly I had to do a little research (with the old man) before I would respond to your criticle posts!!!

His word to me were . . . yes - respond . . . keep it to the point . . . show them both respect as he knows, and has met you both. . . but do not allow yourself to be walked over!!!

Fat lot of use that advice was!!!!!!!

Anyway . . . I'll get started . . . Davo has been a fair critic of many of my posts . . . read this thread in total and you will see that. . . he is not a protected species and if he is . . just tell us!

. . for what its worth Seldo, I have only retalliated to some of his stuff . . cos he is attepting to torment or show his authority over me . . . and if he wants to succeed in that. . . best he gets me banned . . . as I have been brought up to stand on my own two feet and not be "bullied" . . . yes I have lost my patience with some of his demeaning responses to my posts . . . and thats just too bad . . . but don't call me a schoolyard bully when he instigates the stupidity! . . .

Mr Hayden, everyone that has something constructive to say on this forum is an asset!! . . . but putting him on the pedestal that you have today isnt necessary . . . as it appears that he can make derogatory comments to other posts . . . but thats OK with you!!! . . . I WILL stand up for myself. . . and if someone starts to "lower the tone of this thread" . . I will pass judgement . . .

He obviously has the respect of older and long term members around here . . . and he deserves that. . . but does it entitle you guys to set 2 sets of rules? . . I think not!

This thread is about 3 weeks old and has over 10000 veiws and more than 300 posts . . . maybe it should be dead . . maybe not (depending on who's side of the fence your on) . . but one thing is for sure - there are plenty of HSV owners on this forum that tend to keep coming back to see if there is anything of value in it . . . and at this time its 90% dribble and 10% interesting . . . but left to run a few more weeks and future info will be of interest to many on here . . . and I will post it . . . and PD will probably come on here and say something derogatory . . . and other members will "Go after him" . . . and he may or may not deserve that. . . who knows!

So maybe we all learn a little from the "Stupidity" over the last few days!! . . . inc Seldo & Pickles . . . one thing my old man always says . . . "Son, your never too old to learn" . . .

Now I think its time to return to the Topic . . . and if the topic is Dead . . . the Forum members will decide that with their fingers on their keyboards

Re: Does HSV understand its Market?

Graeme...if you think I'm putting some-one on a "pedestal"...so be it.....I'll cop that....even if it's not true....Davo doesn't need anyone putting him on a pedestal....'cause he's quite capable of standing up for himself......Just like you were, when you ran our Nationals all those years ago.....and what a great job you did. On the Brock site, I was one of the few, maybe the only forum member, that had a good word to say about you.....and you know what.....& quite correctly, you couldn't have given a flying f.ck about what others thought about you.....same as Dave.....he does his own thing......I respect the right of, & will support anyone, that stands up for themselves.
So mate, like I said, I will always respect guys that are upfront, no "hidden agendas" etc etc......get it all out there, have your say etc etc etc......that's what I like about you Graeme.....No B/S.
    Cheers, Pickles.

Re: Does HSV understand its Market?

I for one will be interested to hear what the company insider PD can tell us about the future plans at HSV as that will decide how I spend my coin
Those of you that apparently personally know him should encourage PD to do something good for the brand and elaborate rather than being a rag to anyone that comments

I dont want to know how strong their profits are, I cant drive their company balance sheet (nor do I give a toss about it). I want to know how strong their new cars are. That is all that interests me, and I am sure many others, and when that information is right that is how/when I will buy a new HSV and consider they understand the market

Martin, I think HSV understands the market very well.....as well as they can anyway, with the constraints they are under.

Every car manufacturer has constraints, just occassionally some of them need to keep the heartland bad enough to make a true performance model, and in the process win some of the fleet plan wannabees that want to ride the glory coat tails. Just about every other car manufacturer in the world does it....other than Tata and Daewoo (but they have the Cruze SRi)

It would be gold in 2012 to see HSV attack the benchmark - the Nurburgring (not the Nurembergring) and see where they sit in the world order - as thats what its all about
Hiding behind an ever diminishing handful of miner customers in Australia may not cut it in the long term...
