    Rear Ended

On my way home from work on Wed arvo, I was stopped in traffic minding my own business and then BANG!!!! This idiot woman in a Subaru Station Wagon ran into the back of my car. I still had my towbar on from towing the boat on the weekend. The towbar speared her radiator so she had to get a tow. My car has some rear bumber damage but not sure about the tow bar, subframe and drive train though. Dropped the car off this morning to get assessed. I'm with Shannons. Not happy.

Not good mate, was everyone okay?
Hope all goes well with your assessment and hoping there isn't too much damage.

    Where abouts did this happen?

People simply aren't paying attention while driving any more.

Thanks for that. Everyone was OK - hopefully the assessment will reveal the damage is cosmetic only.

Glad to hear everyone was ok though.

We got hit in the Calais a couple of years ago by a lady doing her makeup - didnt realise that traffic had stopped, she was really happy to tell the Police that and even asked me for a lift into town. She got a few choice words in return

I feel ya pain, my SSV goes in for surgery on Monday because some dopey bitch rear ended me.

Sitting at traffic lights she took off the instant it turned green slamming into the back of me. She has no ID but remembers her license number cos she has accidents all the time.

Then, the next day kindly tells me her license is expired. Then the day after that tells me it wasn't her car and pleads to let Her mum take the fall.

Thank god for insurance. Hope yours gets fixed up like brand new

Hi Ryno. Thanks Mate. That biatch that ran into you should be in jail based on her past performance IMHO.

    Re: Rear Ended

I had an R33 GTS25t that had rear quarter panel damage, rear bar damage, tiny bit of front bar damage, smashed windscreen and a blown piston. Tyres were worn and windscreen had spider web cracks.
I was sitting at traffic lights on Mains Road on a wet day when an older man in a 4WD slammed into the back of the VW Beetle behind me pushing the beetle into me which then pushed me into a ute in front. My car was a write off so the guy in the 4WD's insurance offered me a 17k payout, I refused, insurance rang back and offered 19k(what I originally paid for the car in very good condition). I took the 19k and insurance sold me the wreck back for $2200. The wreck was worth FAR more in aftermarket parts alone.
At first I was really annoyed that my car had been written off but it ended up being a good thing for me....

Hopefully everything works out well for you.

    Re: Rear Ended

There are some bloody ignorant drivers out there. My wife got rear ended in our wagon in August last year, when she was 20 weeks pregnant.

What sort of car do you drive? Our wagon had mostly cosmetic damage, but as the tow bar took a fair hit it bent the chassis rails under the cargo floor pan.
