I'm pretty happy with how it turned out...

I decided against spraying the DuSpeed in Tungsten and went with satin black instead. Just waiting for it to dry and I'll fit it up. I resprayed the engine covers in Tungsten though and have finished mounting my D1 Spec catchcan. It's crazy how much gunk and crap goes through the PCV hoses in these motors.
I've been thinking about selling the car but all this work is just making me want to keep it even more lol.
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out...

That looks REALLY good mate.
I think it would have been too much of you colour coded the OTR as well.
Did it really get that dirty just being in your engine bay?
Where'd you get the tungsten paint from?
I like the factorys look of the satin black Dus although I am biased.
The tungsten engine covers add a nice touch to the engine bay.

That first pic is just after one really light coat of the satin black lol.
The Tungsten paint I got from AutoBarn but you can get it from Repco or Supercheap aswell I think. It's just the factory colour stuff by Holts(I think). It's called Tungsten Pearl Metallic.
Thanks for the comments guys
Surfwagon, your matte black DUS was what originally gave me the idea to go matte black then I saw a satin black and thought that would look ok too...I'm really happy with how it turned out and is easy to spray too. Hopefully it holds up alright.
Car left me stranded for the first time last week. The plastic pushrod on the clutch master cylinder broke in half so I've now relaced it with a new one from Holden that was meant for a VY so it has the metal adjustable pushrod.
I've also decided to sell the car so basically looking for $17,000 for it as is. Miss turbo so want to get another Nissan or a single turbo Supra![]()
Sad to hear. If i were you id look at turboing the HSV, but i guess different strokes for different folks.
The engine covers and otr came up a treat with the paint! They look fantastic!
Thanks for the comments
If anyone is looking for a VX Clubsport or knows of anyone I'm gonna drop the price to $15,000 as is for 2 weeks only.
Wow, the covers and OTR came out great mate, well done
I see you have the same catch can as me and mounted it to the block the same,I wonder when the PCV went from being external as your's is to internal?.I hope I never need to replace mine,it will be an expensive exercise
I like the split engine cover's it would be much easier when emptying the can,I will look online for a pair to replace my single unit

I've decided to return the car to stock condition for sale.
So if anyone wants to swap standard parts for mine plus cash my way I'm looking at replacing the ripshifter, DuSpeed OTRCAI, engine covers, rebuilt 3.73 diff and springs.
Ended up buying an S14 200SX off a friend for a very good price. Just needs the clutch fixed up and a bit of a tidy up.
So now I have a couple of choices:
1. Sell the Clubsport and convert the S14 to an LS1 or LS2 with cam.
2. Keep the Clubsport, leave it how it is and slowly do some work to the S14.
3. Fix up the S14, leave it fairly stock for daily duties and start going a bit crazy on the clubsport.
I'm really liking the idea of an lsx s14 but not overly keen on getting rid of the clubby either![]()
If you include how much engineering will cost for the LS transplant, go could go nuts on the S14 or the Clubsport on their own.
An LS S14 would be mad, but has been done.
I definitely want the car to be registerable whatever I do.
Pretty certain I'll be converting the S14 to either an RB25DET or an LS1. I haven't had alot of luck with SR20s in the past. I've wanted an LS1 S-Chassis for a long time and once done I "think" it would be a car I could keep for a long time. Strength, reliability and parts availabilty for my LS1 have been awesome. And the fuel consumption has probably been on par with my old
180sx(260rwkw).
I'm getting a written off S14 with the running one aswell so once the parts from that are sold the car would owe me most likely nothing. And if I sell the sr20 related stuff from the good s14 that can all go towards the conversion.
